Heather is very passionate about all genres of music and this has lead her to playing in a number of solo, chamber, orchestral, traditional and band circumstances. Recent engagements being two performances of Tchaikovsky's violin concerto with the Glasgow Orchestral Society, chamber music recital at the Rannoch Music Society, guest leader at the Stockport Symphony Orchestra, performing and recording alongside the Young Traditional Musician of the Year Rona Wilkie and appearing with orchestras such as BBC Philharmonic, Manchester Camerata, Opera North and Scottish Ballet as well as artists Gary Numan, Echo and the Bunnymen, Paloma Faith, Alex Warren, Evanescence, Twin Atlantic, Gungor, Public Service Broadcasting and Susan Boyle. She is an avid viola and piano player as well as having a passion for arranging traditional music in her spare time.
Heather currently holds a Tutti 2nd Violin position at The Hallé Orchestra in Manchester and a teaching position at Ashton on Mersey School in Sale. She also runs her own business, Dahlia Music, alongside her sister Kirsty.
