Violin lessons in Maastricht from beginners to advanced violinists

From 74 C$ /h

Hello! My name is Ana, I am 32 years old and I am a violin teacher with 10+ years of teaching experience working with children and adults, specializing in creating a supportive environment for beginners and advanced players. I am based in Maastricht and I teach at my violin studio in Scharn.

My teaching focuses on developing solid technique and musicality in a friendly and encouraging environment. I help students build a strong foundation and enjoy music-making. Over the years I have developed my own teaching method which includes elements from ABRSM, Trinity, Suzuki and Galamian methods, as well as covers standard violin repertoire. This makes learning structured and fun. For optimal development, I organize frequent lessons with the piano accompanist as well as a two class concerts per year in various locations in Maastricht, where everybody is welcome to join and support! Because I am always fully committed to my students, I like to study each case individually and prepare for each lesson beforehand.

A bit about my teaching background: both my parents are violin teachers, so this is my world since I can remember. As soon as I started conservatory in London I started teaching privately and in a music school while I was studying performance and music pedagogy. I am proud to have very high-level students that have pursued a career in music and have become exceptional violinists.

I currently divide my time between teaching violin and playing as Co-Principal second violin at Philharmonie Zuidnederland, as well as freelancing in other orchestras like Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Rotterdam Philharmonisch Orkest and Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest. I gained my Bachelor's Degree from the Royal College of Music in London with a specialization in teaching and a Master's Degree from Musikhochschule Lübeck. I was an academist at the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in 2017/2018.

Lessons can be in Dutch, English or Spanish.

Playing the violin is not just about learning the right notes — it's about discovering your own sound and enjoying the music you create.

In my lessons, we work at your own pace, building a strong foundation while keeping music at the heart of the learning process. Whether you're starting from zero or already have some experience, the lessons are shaped around you and what you would like to achieve.

All you need to bring is your violin and a little curiosity!

Wether you are:
▪︎ a parent interested in introducing your children to the violin or the viola or maybe develop abilities they already have
▪︎ an adult who wants to take the step into the world of playing a musical instrument because, trust me, it's never too late to start
▪︎someone already able to play an instrument (any instrument) but want to understand how the language of music works on a theoretical level
▪︎ someone who would like to make chamber music together with a group friends and you would like to have a coach who guides you
We can definitely work together and achieve your musical goals!

I have been in the world of music since my early teens and have gathered experience with both violin and viola, even though I ended especializing in the latter, performing but also teaching children and adults. My several years of university studies have given me a functional and integral knowledge of Music Theory. Regarding Chamber Music, which is my life passion, I have studied and performed in a wide variety of contexts and places in Europe and America. In the Netherlands, I received my Master's Degree in Viola at the Maastricht Conservatory.

A tenured violinist at the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra of Liège and a graduate of the Geneva University of Music (Bachelor), the Amsterdam Conservatory (Master) and the IMEP in Namur (Master in Pedagogy), I have 10 years of teaching experience. I teach classes for all ages and levels (French or English), no musical knowledge is required and the repertoire can include any style of music. If necessary and in parallel with violin lessons, I can give music theory lessons. I travel to your home (Liège and surrounding areas) and I have a vehicle. Passionate about research on the well-being of the musician, I base my lessons on relaxation, good humor and the desires of the student in order to create a bond of trust and better progress. Breathing, awareness of the body and feelings, work on posture, development of sound and liberation of expression. I also offer personalized support for students preparing for exams or conservatory entrance exams. I take working with my students and sharing my passion for music with great seriousness and pleasure. Don't hesitate to contact me!

My name is Fabiola, and I am a violin and viola teacher and children’s orchestra conductor based in Maastricht. I work with students of all ages, creating a supportive, creative, and personalized learning environment where each student can grow at their own pace and enjoy making music.

As an active orchestral performer, I bring my professional experience on stage directly into my teaching. I help students develop a solid technique while fostering musicality, expression, and confidence. I completed a Master’s in Violin Performance with a focus on Spanish music, as well as a symphonic master’s in collaboration with the Spanish Radio and Television Orchestra (Orquesta RTVE).

I currently collaborate with the Philharmonie Zuidnederland and the Spanish Radio and Television Symphony Orchestra, while also teaching private violin and viola lessons.
