Tijdens de lessen staat een ontspannen en natuurlijke houding centraal, want dat is de basis voor een mooie en vrije klank. Ik besteed veel aandacht aan een verfijnde streektechniek, een zuivere intonatie en het aanleren van een soepel, expressief vibrato. Door mijn muzikale opvoeding ben ik bovendien goed thuis in de Kodály-methode, waardoor het verbinden van zang met instrumentale techniek een heel natuurlijk onderdeel is van mijn manier van lesgeven. Wanneer nodig begeleid ik mijn leerlingen ook op de piano, wat het samen muziek maken extra toegankelijk en inspirerend maakt. Mijn doel is om in een geduldige en persoonlijke sfeer jouw muzikaliteit tot bloei te laten komen – of je nu net begint of je techniek verder wilt verdiepen. About Me

Péter was born in Budapest in 1990. Raised on the renowned Kodály method and having sung in a choir from an early age, he brings a broad, holistic view of music into his teaching. While his educational background is primarily classical — having earned his degree at the prestigious Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music — he also actively enjoys and plays a wide variety of light and popular music genres. With over a decade of professional orchestral and teaching experience in Hungary and the Netherlands, Péter has performed extensively with renowned ensembles, including the István Philharmonie, the Gödöllő Symphony Orchestra, the Alba Regia Symphony Orchestra, and the Hungarian Baroque Ensemble. His international performance experience includes working as a pianist in London and participating in guest projects with the Amsterdam Jeugd Muziek Theater. Currently based in the Netherlands, Péter serves as a teaching assistant at Leerorkest Amsterdam and teaches private lessons through Home Music Teachers Amsterdam. He offers engaging and personalized instruction for violin, viola, and piano.

Péter completed his higher musical education at the prestigious Liszt Ferenc Academy of Music in Budapest, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Viola, 2015.

During the lessons, a relaxed and natural posture and touch take center stage, as this is the foundation for a beautiful, full, and free sound. I pay close attention to varied touching technique, the use of the pedal, and expressive dynamic nuances. Furthermore, thanks to my musical upbringing, I am well-versed in the Kodály method, making the connection between singing and the inner ear with instrumental technique a very natural part of my teaching approach. Additionally, I enjoy teaching you how to accompany other instruments (such as voice or violin), so that you master the basics of chamber music and playing together. My goal is to help your musicality flourish in a patient and personal atmosphere – whether you are just starting out or wish to further deepen your technique. Besides being very active as a performing violinist, I have also been teaching children and adults for years with pleasure. I graduated from the conservatory and also graduated as an orthopedagogue and music therapist. As a result, I have a lot of knowledge and patience when working with children/adults who need specific attention. Think of people with autism, giftedness and mild intellectual disabilities. Of course, you are also welcome as an adult with or without additional challenges.
I have 3 children myself, 2 of whom are highly gifted. This has ensured that I teach these children with even more enthusiasm, understanding and patience. It is also possible to indicate in advance in conversation what your child is struggling with and how violin lessons can help with that. For example, think of making contact and feeling with autistic children. Highly gifted children experience extra challenge and learn to deal with the frustration that something does not work right away.

Of course everyone is welcome with me!
I teach from different methods, but look at what is appropriate for each student. I also work on the development of sound performance, solfege, music theory and improvisation.
I have a classic basic method, but work tailor-made and see what someone needs. Light pop / film music is also a possibility.
