I give instrumental lessons in trombone, piano, cello and music theory lessons. I aim to provide a thorough grounding in fundamental technique, whilst allowing the student to explore the music that they are interested in. I can help pupils achieve grades but I do not focus extensively on moving through grades, in favour of exploring a broader range of music and styles.

Audio recording
if done in right manner and with right mic-ing techniques will not depend merely on post production for it's enhancement. This consists of closed mic-ing and open mic-ing, where to use different aspects and how to apply them. For example using small diaphragm microphones for snare and larger ones for vocals.

Piano
It is the best tuned instrument that there is in the whole library. So, learning piano not only helps you to just play piano better but you can also do better in vocals, guitar, flute and other instruments. It's a go for anyone who is fond of music and wants to learn a instrument.

Music composition
This module aims to develop the students’ compositional ability using a combination of key musical understanding and the practical use of music creation software. Students will have the opportunity to investigate technical and stylistic conventions across a range of contemporary western popular music genres and to study key elements such as chord progressions, structure, harmony and melody, to develop their confidence and own abilities in composition.

These sessions will explore musical composition techniques used in popular and contemporary music. The focus will be on deconstructing different works, exploring what their musical elements are and investigating what commonality these have across the boundaries of genre or instrumentation. Students will have experience of composing original musical elements and arranging these elements into complete compositions.

She was the baroque strings coach at the inaugural edition of the Novi Sad Baroque Academy, where she presented a mixture of teaching methods incorporated with historically informed performance practice. In October of 2021 she joined the Herne Hill Music Studio in London as one of their tutors. She enjoys teaching students of all levels and ages, and is always willing to exchange knowledge, seeking new exciting and productive ways of learning. She has explored educational psychology, as well as Feldenkrais and Alexander Technique, visualization and different teaching schools. Having studied 2nd-study piano at her music college as a compulsory requirement, she is able to guide children to take ABRSM graded piano music exams too. I am a second-generation Irish traditional flute and tin whistle player from North West London. Having graduated from Newcastle University's Folk and Traditional music degree with a first class honours, I specialise in Irish traditional flute and tin whistle playing, equipped with rich knowledge, understanding and repertoire from traditions of the British Isles, Scandinavia and Brittany.

I teach students of all ages and abilities, from absolute beginners, who will be taught basic music theory and how to get to grips with their instrument, to advanced players who are looking to nurture their technique and expand their repertory.

Tailoring lesson plans to each individual student, I teach techniques and tunes that are carefully sourced and suited to differing levels of ability. Lessons can be taught either by ear or by notation, or a mixture of both to suit the student. With patience and encouragement, lessons will always be taken at the pace of the student to ensure that the learning experience is as comfortable and as enjoyable as possible.

Hi!

I’m Paloma, I’m a film and videogame music composer, pianist and violist. I give classes in music language, music theory, harmony, and composition from classical to film, piano, and viola. My students are any age, any level from beginner to advanced. I will help with exams, GCSE, and A-Levels, as well as help students obtain their grade 5 theory to advance and take higher grades in composition or viola.

I started teaching when I was 17 years old. While I was studying viola and composition I would help colleagues learn Harmonic Theory for University exams or just for fun. Whilst studying, in order to support my learning abroad, I started teaching children and teenagers. The classes included a wide variety, from; supporting their studies during the school year, to their first approaches to music as well as nurturing love and excitement for playing and making music. After University I continued giving classes during the last few years.

The compositional strand of training if a student wishes to undergo it has many elements we will learn the theory needed to competently make music learn systems that allow us to break down composition as well as multiple genres. work they can do by themselves at their own pace, allowing each student to work and grow at a rate suited to their ability.
-Building a strong understanding of melodies and chords and how different instruments work and support each other.
-If they are studying in a formal educational establishment, they will receive support and guidance in regard to their work and exams.

When I am giving classes in music language, viola, piano... to children, I always try that the classes will be dynamic but at the same time incorporate a little bit of Theory. I utilised exercises that are designed to engage young developmental minds, like those you’d find on a children’s show. For example, singing, playing... songs allows us to train the ears and help them to begin to recognise the different registers, notes, rhythms and tempo. This was done alongside training on their chosen instruments, my aim was and is to nurture a language of music as well as give them practical skills and exercises they can do on their own. I play the piano and viola, so I always try to support them.

When it comes to classes for teenagers I teach them theory and practice as well as strong fundamentals but I also allow time to let them lead their learning to give them more agency, allow them to learn their favourite /contemporary songs. This keeps the passion for music alive. With teenagers, my approach centres on elevating and reinforcing what they learn from school using exercises and providing tools to break down ideas musically. In addition, I also prepare for GCSE and A-levels.

Lessons will follow a path of progression, teaching them how to approach the next levels of theoretical and practical competence. Allowing the students to understand their Progression and their path forward increases the likelihood they will continue studying.

Lessons are flexible, and curated on a student-to-student basis as well as making sure to incorporate what I believe they need to achieve the next level. This involves; practical music training, ear training, building on theoretical knowledge, as well as learning songs they love to ensure they feel fulfilled and have fun with music.

My teaching methods have proven effective with all age groups, from ages 6 and upwards. I've also spend significant time teaching adults and those with special needs.

I’ve played bass for 80s legends Talk Talk, bass and keyboards for renowned tribute band Guns 2 Roses on national and European tours, been a musical supervisor and musical director for national theatre productions, and shared stages with cast members from Les Misérables, Book of Mormon, Dear Evan Hansen, Mamma Mia, and more. I've performed everywhere from intimate acoustic venues to the Royal Festival Hall and even Wembley Stadium.
