I’m from Hong Kong, and my mother tongues are Cantonese and Mandarin. This can be a challenge for many students, especially in the third grade. In my lesson I try to explain the subject matter to students based on their own course, my old course and extra exercises. I am a native Mandarin Chinese speaker, born in Gansu Province, China, and I completed my secondary education in Sichuan. Growing up in different regions of China gave me a rich cultural background and a broad understanding of everyday Chinese life and language.

Later, I moved to Belgium to study at university in Dutch, and today I work as a mechanical engineer. I am also a father of two children. Living abroad and learning new languages myself has helped me understand how challenging — but also how fun — language learning can be.
