Guidance is also available for students preparing portfolios for art schools in the United States.

About Me

I am a studio arts professional with a BFA and MA from the United States, offering engaging, hands-on private art lessons in English or Turkish. I teach drawing, painting, illustration, and creative development, as well as portfolio preparation for art school.

I teach art because it enriches my own practice. I enjoy meeting new learners, discovering their unique creative worlds, and creating together. Teaching also challenges me to look at familiar techniques with fresh eyes, stay curious, and continue developing as an artist. Every lesson is a shared creative exchange where ideas grow, confidence builds, and both teacher and student gain new perspectives.

Within certain period you will learn how to let your creativity to flow more loosely using different techniques of painting and drawing. We will experiment a lot, but also get to know the importance of art history. No matter what is your level, the most important element is to enjoy.
The idea is to free your imagination.

Contrary to popular belief, realistic drawing will never be outdated, not because of some strange fixation in academic art, but because of its usefulness in a huge variety of tasks that are or are not related to the art field. To me, more than anything, realistic drawing offers an explanation of the world that is somehow shoothing and fulfilling.

Drawing is a foundational skill for practicing art. I've designed this course to assist you in acquiring the foundations of drawing up to your desired level. My area of specialization is portraiture so of course we can dive as deeply into this as you'd like.

The classes are shaped towards discovering the multifaceted aspects of art through experimenting with different crafts, mediums, and techniques beyond painting and drawing, as well as familiarizing the participant with various artists and art currents. The lessons are adapted according to the age, as well as interests and inclinations of the student. Considering my background in art and architecture, if there is interest in that, it is possible to dive into related topics, architectural drawing, and model-making exercises (suitable for almost any age).

From drawing and sketching, to painting with all kinds of media, I provide various courses, in all levels, on the basis of advancing the academic tradition of drawing and painting, and exploring the experience when making art. I obtained my bachelor degree from Royal Academy of Art in The Hague (2023) and before I studied graphic design and printmaking.

Are you looking to improve your drawing skills or you don't even know where to start but you dream of an art career? Or perhaps you have entrance exams coming up for art school or architecture studies and you want to ensure you will pass?
This is an individual course design depending on your request and your starting level. Each course includes lessons filled with instruction information, practice time and homework assignment. You can begin with Level 1 and continue further or choose to start on a specific level.

Level 1 - This course is an absolute beginner level. You can hold a pencil and a brush but the starting is so stressful and confusing. You're scared of making a mistake, you don't know where to begin, you're getting lost when it comes to composition or shading whenever you start to draw. I GOT YOU! Those are very common feelings when you start to draw and it can be discouraging, give you a feeling of being stuck or just very dissatisfied with your art.

In this course I will guide you through basic traditional art techniques such as pencil sketching, pen and ink drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting. We will be studying composition, forms, shapes, structure and texture of different objects such as fabric, furniture, animal fur, plants etc. I’ll show you how to achieve depth in your shading, how to understand light, and the effect of fragility of plants or hardship and reflection of metal. I’ll teach you observation, things to look for in the drawing, but most of all I'll give you tools for future independent learning that will save you tons of time while figuring on your own!
The key to success is your motivation and time you will dedicate to your homework practice.

Level 2 - This course is directed towards people who have some basic understanding of traditional art media techniques such as pencil sketching, pen and ink drawing, watercolor, and acrylic painting. Your art is currently your hobby, but you would like to change it into a career? Know more about art as a business model, get insights into career tips and opportunities. Or do you want to improve your sketching skills, learn to digitise your work, create digital illustrations in Procreate, or combine it all in your own unique way?

Level 3 - Advanced. It will focus on your specific desire as an artist and adjust to your skills and technique preferences. During the first introduction skills, I’ll provide some exercises to see how you work and together we will find the way we can work and improve.

Art Courses are a playful, hands-on after-school art workshop for children ages 7 and up (and curious teens or adults too!), where creativity, self-expression, and teamwork come together. In small groups, participants explore painting, drawing, sketching, and crafting with a wide variety of materials—like acrylics, pastels, pencils, collage, and mixed media. Each session offers something new: from experimenting with techniques to working together on imaginative projects that encourage collaboration and confidence. The workshops are based in Rotterdam, but I’m also available to travel to Den Haag and Delft, depending on interest. Classes can be held at you own personal space, making it flexible and accessible. For those who want to continue their creative journey, there’s an optional subscription that includes regular sessions and access to special themed workshops.
