Passionate about pedagogy and individualized support, I am convinced that each student has a unique potential that should be revealed through an adapted approach. My career has led me to teach in various educational contexts: from private tutoring in the West Indies and Switzerland, to teaching groups of students in Japan and France, to supporting adolescents with psychological disorders. This diversity of experiences has allowed me to develop a great capacity to adapt to the specific needs of students, whether it is academic support, exam preparation or individualized support.

About Me

With a varied experience in international teaching, I chose to settle in Lausanne for family reunification and a desire for stability. Eager to get involved in local life, I would like to use my teaching know-how by actively contributing to the academic support of students.

As a tutor, I have supported French students at a secondary school level and students from the Lausanne Hotel School in subjects as varied as mathematics, science, economics and computer science. My goal is always to make learning more concrete and motivating, by integrating everyday examples and interactive tools. My methodology is based on interaction, contextualization of knowledge and encouragement of autonomy, in order to strengthen students' confidence in their learning.

While my favorite subjects are mathematics, natural sciences, computer science and English, I am also able to teach other subjects up to a certain level, depending on the needs of the students.

I offer support, refresher and advanced courses in mathematics.
I adapt to everyone.
I have a dynamic and pedagogical approach.
My lessons can take place at your home or via a camera that films my writings, as well as a computer camera for videoconferencing. Thus, you can improve your level in mathematics wherever you are, without any geographical constraint, in a fun and effective way.

Acquiring methods, organizing knowledge and reasoning to solve exercises, using memorization techniques are often the important points to develop to enable the student to be independent and achieve their goals.

I am rather open and relaxed, while being precise and rigorous.

I am a secondary school teacher (retraining in 2021) after having been a chemical and textile engineer, and a former student of a preparatory class for the grandes écoles (higher and special maths).

For 12 years, I have been giving individual lessons to students of all levels, and more specifically to students preparing for the French scientific baccalaureate, the international baccalaureate or in cycle.

Hi! My name is Losel, I'm an IB graduate who scored 7 in both Math AA HL and Physics HL. I've just graduated magna cum laude with a double bachelor in mathematics and physics from École Polytechnique (Paris) and am now doing a master's in Quantum Science and Engineering at EPFL.

I offer one-on-one online tutoring, with an iPad and camera setup so we can work through problems together in real time, just like in person. I can help with:

Concepts: Going through your lectures and building intuition, clearing up the hard concepts.

Exercises and past papers: Understanding the exercises (best way to get a good grade btw), as well as exam strategy and how to solve problems faster.

IA and EE: choosing a strong topic, structuring the paper, and refining drafts.

University applications: personal statements, choosing programs, mock technical interviews, and how to maximize your chances to get into a top uni.

I've been through the IB myself, so I know where it gets tough and how to succeed through it. No two students need the same thing, so we'll set clear goals together and work toward them at your pace.

I teach in English, but I also have a C1 in French, so we can mix. I also speak Portuguese and Danish fluently.
