I am a Clarinet, Saxophone and Vocal coach from Zimbabwe with over a decade of teaching and performance experience from leading a successful solo career and working as a music teacher. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Jazz singing from Haute Ecole de Musique (HEMU) Lausanne where I am currently studying a Masters in Jazz Pedagogy. I have also studied music in Dublin Ireland, where I acquired a Higher Certificate in Jazz and Contemporary Music from Newpark Music Centre's Berklee Track program which is facilitated by Berklee College of Music in Boston. I was the 2024 laureat of the Foundation Casino Barrier Award for talent and creativity and a 2018 winner of the Zimbabwean National Arts Council's National Arts Merit Award (NAMA). I am an accomplished classical pianist and experienced teacher who offers you piano lessons, at all levels from beginner to advanced, for fun or for serious ones (preparation for competitions, auditions, exams, etc.).

I am a doctoral candidate at the University of Montreal (Canada) and am also pursuing a second Master's degree at the HEM in Geneva. The 5 string banjo is an amazing instrument. It's driving trademark sound and it's African roots has contributed to many music traditions, including Country, Bluegrass, Blues, Jazz and world music.

In my class you'll first learn the basics, how to hold and pick and read tablatures. We'll then go through how to play a tune, accompany other instruments and finally, improvise. During the year I'll teach you basic music theory like rhythm, harmony and a bit of ear training to help you develop your understanding and relationship to the instrument.

We'll mainly play Bluegrass Scruggs style at first, then we'll dive into melodic style and sigle string, that will all be useful for playing other kinds of music, like Irish music, Pop, Jazz or Blues.
