Mathieu is an independent photographer based in Lausanne in March 2011 after seven years in Los Angeles. After a master's degree in economics and management in Paris and a two-year stint in advertising agency, he focuses on his passion: photography. Two years of assistantship in advertising studio and he specializes thereafter in the portrait and the social reports in the long course and realizes advertising and corporates orders.

This professional diversification has enabled him to assert his position as a photo editor by selecting the subjects presented at Open Show, shaping his vision and the constructive analysis of a series of photographs. He is also interested in new modes of interactive narration and their new narrative grammar, both delineared, interactive and immersive, and their cross-media / multi-platform diffusion.

How to understand his subject and especially express what we want about this subject?

Here are some examples of questions that will be addressed during this workshop at my studio located in Lausanne, Switzerland.

This one day Photographic Workshop will allow you to deepen your technical and cultural knowledge on the history of Portrait in Photography.

There will be sessions in studio, but also in natural light and collective reflections on the theme of portraiture.

By renouncing the information given by color, the black and white portrait becomes abstract, which means that it is brought back to the essential, the gaze concentrating on the subject itself. Everything will be restored by a range of gray

ACRYLIC PAINTING - course open to all!
The objective:
To deepen your knowledge or familiarize yourself with acrylic painting;
Encourage your personal creativity;
Give wings to your imagination and... have fun!

After a short introduction, I will explain some essential rules of acrylic painting, and you will begin by discovering how to build your artwork step by step.
Different stages in the creation of a work of art:
- for technique: creation of flat washes, washes, material effects, rubbing;
- for colours: research and composition of your palette;
- for tools: different types of brushes and their uses; other various tools possible with acrylic paint.

I will offer you several photos and models of subjects to work on, but you can also work on a model of your choice.

Various mediums will be used such as acrylics, watercolor pencils, and wax pastels, somewhere between painting and drawing.
