This class is designed for children and beginners who are interested in learning Chinese (Mandarin). We will focus on developing basic speaking, listening, reading, and writing skills through fun and interactive activities. In addition to language learning, I also introduce stories from Chinese history, legends, and traditional culture to make the lessons engaging and meaningful. Students will not only learn how to use Chinese in daily life but also gain a deeper understanding of China’s rich cultural background. English SL and Higher Level for the International Baccalaureate is a rigorous course, especially for ESL students. I completed the IB with HL English and received a 7 (highest mark) in my final exam. I will be able to go over both Standard Level and Higher Level syllabuses for the course specific to the material covered in your school, and prepare you for mock and final exams. I will include essay writing skills, literary criticism and analysis, as well as vocabulary expansion techniques in my teaching. A brief overview of the key features of English SL/HL as set by the International Baccalaureate Organisation: • Higher level study requires a minimum of 240 class hours, while standard level study requires a minimum of 150 class hours • Students study 13 works at higher level and 9 works at standard level from a representative selection of literary forms, periods and places • Students develop the ability to engage in close, detailed analysis of literary works, building understanding of the techniques involved in literary criticism • The study of literary works in context is emphasised, and through the study of literature in translation the student is challenged to reflect on the role of cultural assumptions in interpretation • Students are assessed through a combination of formal examination and oral and written coursework. • The formal examination comprises two essay papers, one requiring the analysis of a passage of unseen literary text, and the other comparative response to a question based on two works studied • Students also perform an oral activity presenting their analysis of two works studied • HL students comply with an additional written coursework requirement which consists of writing a 1200 - 1500 word essay on one of the works studied

I am a professional musician and educator, with international experience as a Violin/Viola/ Chamber Music/Theory teacher, soloist, orchestra leader, chamber musician, and jury member. I have graduated in Violin at the Conservatory of Music "G.P. da Palestrina" of Cagliari- Italy and in Viola at the Conservatory of Music "G. Verdi" of Milan-Italy. My professional activity led me to work in several orchestras as performer, and in various music schools as upper- string and chamber music teacher. I lived and worked in Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Portugal, and since 2012 I made London my home, where I developed further teaching experience within the British system. I have also founded "The Geminiani Project" of which I am the director and the leader of the Camerata Geminiani, ensemble that has been invited to perform in England, Italy, Germany, France, Portugal, Denmark, and Sweden. At the same time I have established my ensemble, I have also launched the Geminiani Youth Orchestra (formed by young musicians aged 6 to 17 years old) as I believe in the importance of giving an opportunity to young players to perform together, and the amateur ensemble Hampton Chamber Orchestra; we performed with both orchestras at various venues in London. Regarding my teaching technique, I believe that each student is different and unique, so the first thing I try to do is to establish a connection, then I try to understand the major skills and major difficulties of the student in order to develop a personalised system; I pay much importance also to the emotional aspect the student is dealing with in order to build passion and love for music. I strongly believe that, once achieved a technical skill, the student must have the chance to play with the teacher and with other students, and feel the excitement of making music together.
