Hi All, thank you for checking out my course. This class is open to students of all levels. Whether you are only starting to learn the wild-looking letters of the Cyrillic alphabet, or whether you are looking to practise your written and spoken Russian, I would be delighted to accompany you at any stage of your Russian-learning journey. For more advanced students, I would be happy to help you get to know one of the most defining aspects of the Russian language, namely its novels and poetry, which would be a great way to learn about the 'mysterious' Russian soul. I believe that studying in three different countries have allowed me to try out and assess various approaches to education in general and teaching languages in particular - from the rigourous Russian system based on ensuring that the students will obtain exceptional spelling, grammar, syntax and punctuation skills, to the more relaxed yet more critical and analytical Western approach, focused on problem-solving and independent work. You will get the benefit of a vast bank of techniques, methods and learning materials that I have developed and accumulated over the past year will be used in class to pique and maintain your interest. And since I was once a language student too, I would be able to share my personal tips and tricks with you to help you reach whatever goal you have set for yourself - be it being able to wow your friends and family by reciting a poem in the language of Dostoyevski, or impressing your future collegues with the thorough knowledge of Russian current affairs in their mother tongue!

I am Canadian, living and teaching from home in West London. I taught voice at the University of Western Ontario and coached at Universities of Toronto, British Columbia and Montreal, and the Royal Conservatory of Music (Toronto), as well as at Tapestry New Opera, Soundstreams Canada and the Canadian Music Centre. Some of my students have gone on to perform at major opera houses, theatre festivals and professional choirs, while some have gained the confidence to sing a solo at their local church or community event. Some have completed their ABRSM or Trinity exams, or auditioned for conservatoire/university, which I help prepare them for. Seeing my students shine (both on stage and off) fills me with humble pride and fulfillment. We will strive to find the authentic version of your voice, which is important in ANY style of music we sing. You want to sound like YOU, right? My name's Luca and I've been a full-time professional musician for the past 10 years. I mainly work as a session musician and recording artist/producer, and also as a private guitar tutor. My goal when it comes to teaching is to share my knowledge and passion for music and to help you improving and having as much enjoyment from it as I have for it. I base my lessons on my student’s ambitions and on their weaknesses, so they can improve quickly and efficiently, without loosing interest on the instrument, and so they can reach their goals, giving them a personalised lesson plan, having fun and playing different styles and techniques. Everyone is welcome to join my teaching plan if they want to spice up their playing or simply start from scratch. I specialise in all popular musical styles, such as Pop, R&B, Funk, Jazz, Rock and more, on both electric and acoustic guitar. I am a qualified English teacher originally from Wales in the UK. I hold CELTA as well as a Bachelor and Masters degree. I originally trained as an opera singer and I enjoy listening and playing music, watching films, baking, running and yoga. I like to bring elements of mine and my student's hobbies into the lesson because the improvements tend to be greater when everyone is enjoying themselves. I'm a reliable and kind person, and I like to help people. I have a wealth of teaching experience that ranges from roles such as Learning Support Worker to Singing Teacher and Singing Workshop Leader to English Teacher and also Head of English. I have worked with a wide age range of students and feel comfortable assisting those with extra needs. I have also been a language student myself when I was learning German and Italian. I have great empathy with the challenges of learning a language and how personal they can be. I will make sure that they actually understand the concept rather than just focusing on the procedure and following steps. Maths is a very cumulative subject and it is important that any gaps in the foundation is addressed otherwise your child may continue to have difficulties later on.

I will work one on one with you on any subject that you would want to work on. I am more skilled in Math and know everything form basic algebra to calculus 2 and can help with English and grammar. I'm from America, so I took AP Literature and Language and Composition for English and Calculus BC (1 and 2) for math (equivalent to A - Levels) and got 5s on all of the tests. I prefer to meet with you for the lessons, understand what you need help with, and I can help create a game plan with you and prepare you for what you need. I love to meet and work with other people and I can make time to your needs as well.
