I was graduated with both Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degree (Violin Performance) at Royal Holloway, University of London with PGDE at The University of Hong Kong. Have previous experiences in teaching small violin classes and one to one private classes at schools. I speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Have performed in different orchestras both in London and in Hong Kong. I am a full time violin instructor, students ranging from age 4 to adults. My teaching emphasises in the posture, techniques, music style as well as music knowledge, encourage students to participate in music exams and competition. Practise makes perfect and to have passion in music are the goals towards confidence and success.

About Me

Miss Julie’s goal is to encourage and motivate young musicians to enjoy music, eventually leading to his or her own style of performing on stage.

Julie is also a very enthusiastic violin instructor, she further achieved PGDE from the University of Hong Kong. For the past years, her students are from both prestigious international and local schools in Hong Kong.

Education

Miss Julie started violin journey at the age of six under the guidance of Winty Wan, then moved on to Mo Kwok Fai of Hong Kong Academy of Performing Arts. With passionate and commitment to music, Julie decided to further develop musical skills and knowledge at Royal Holloway, University of London under the guidance of professional violinist Francesca Barritt and Jeremy Issac. She obtained Master of Music with Merit and Bachelor of Music (Honours) with scholarship specialised in violin performance all along the way.

Have previous experiences in teaching small violin classes and one to one private classes at schools. I speak fluent English, Cantonese and Mandarin. Have performed in different orchestras both in London and in Hong Kong.

Under the conductor guidance of Rebecca Miller, Julie participated actively in both Royal Holloway Symphony Orchestra and Chamber Orchestra playing alongside with London Mozart Players.

Besides being a violin player, Miss Julie is also a very enthusiastic violin instructor, teaching students from both local and international schools in Hong Kong. She further achieved a Postgraduate Degree in Education (PGDE) from the University of Hong Kong, and is now a qualified teacher for schools.

Born in 1998, Virginia started learning violin at the age of 3, under the tutelage of under Ms Beedarn Chao and Ms Rosa Lam. In 2013, she attained DipABRSM in violin performance and Grade 8 piano one year later. In 2018, Virginia graduated from King’s College London with a Bachelor of Music (First Class Honours), under the sponsorship of the “King’s Hong Kong Scholarships” At KCL, she studied violin with tutors from the Royal Academy of Music - Mr. Nicolas Dupont and Ms Georgia Hannant. She also studied composition with Professor Silvina Milstein, Robert Keeley and Dr. Edward Nesbit. Her works have been performed by UK professional musicians and ensembles such as Clare McCaldin and Lontano Ensemble.

Since university, Virginia has been actively teaching primary to form 6 students at King’s St George’s Music Academy (London) and Sevenoaks School, one of the top 5 UK boarding schools. Aiming to branch out in the field of music, Virginia has took up various arts administration and marketing positions in leading ensembles such as the English Music Festival, London City Philharmonic and more since 2016.
