English, Math and Economics tutoring to help and possibly as test preparation

From 26 C$ /h

I teach English, Mathematics and Economics.

For English, I can help with reading, writing and listening skills. I will do this in a way that it will also help you in practice, such as using online articles.

For Mathematics, I specialize in Mathematics A. I have always been good at Mathematics A and I would like to explain and pass on the way of working to others.

For Economy, I can explain the basics well. I can handle the advanced economic calculations, but I am not very good at explaining things, so it is more a matter of basics.

Extra information

It would be nice if you brought a book with assignments for at least Math and English.

Are you a high school or high school student and have difficulty understanding and solving math or physics problems? Then I am someone who would like to help you with that. I often see that in standard classroom teaching is succinctly taught. As a result, the student misses out on the whole picture, making the teaching material and the problems vague and unclear. My goal is to take the time for each student to complete the whole picture and guide them through complex problems, so that the student can not only take tests and exams with ease, but also enjoy learning the material.

Hi! Im an Astronomy student here in the Netherlands and I believe I could be able to help out anyone that might need tutoring for their kids, both in high school and in primary school. I am particularly good at both maths and physics, along with natural science, so if that is something your kids might need help with, I'm the perfect person.

Hi! Welcome! I am a Ph.D. researcher in Physics at the University of Cologne, Germany. Recently, I graduated from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands with a Master's degree in Nanoscience (w/ cum Laude). I offer private tutoring (for high school and/or university-level students) so you can understand the fundamental concepts and excel in your studies. I have teaching experience of 5+ years in Physics and Mathematics to both high school and university-level students.

This class aims to provide an overview of calculus and linear algebra and focuses on the fundamental mathematical tools and concepts, such as limits, differentiation, and integration. Building on these basic concepts, we will review methods for solving problems related to optimization, linear differential equations, and matrix algebra.

Outline of the course:
1. Calculus:
1.1 Limits of functions
1.2 Continuity, types of discontinuities, intermediate value theorem
1.3 Differentiation (or derivative), slope, secant, tangent
1.4 Rules and theorems for differentiation, power rule, product rule, chain rule
1.5 Derivatives of exp, log, and trigonometric functions
1.6 Implicit differentiation and derivative of inverse functions
1.7 Rolle's theorem, mean value theorem, critical point, maximum/minimum of a function
1.8 First and second derivative tests, inflection points
1.9 Anti-derivative, indefinite integral, integration by substitution, integration by parts
1.10 Definite integral and its application (area between curves, application in physics)\
1.11 Optimization and linear differential equations

2. Linear Algebra:
2.1 Vectors and scalars in Euclidean space, vector arithmetic, scalar product, cross product
2.2 Equations for lines and planes, vector spaces, linear independence, span, basis, dimension
2.3 Linear transformations, coordinates, and representation of linear transformations by matrices
2.4 Matrix operations: matrix multiplication, transpose, determinant, inverse, and Hermitian conjugate
2.5 Systems of linear equations, Gaussian elimination
2.6 Eigenvalues and eigenvectors
2.7 Range, kernel, and rank-nullity theorem

and many more...

*Note that the sessions will be held online (via Discord/Zoom/Microsoft Teams).

In 2023, I successfully completed the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme at the same time as the Czech Baccalaureate exam at my high school. I enjoy mathematics, I had a special tutorial programme in it and as part of my extra-curricular studies I simultaneously studied mathematical analysis at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague. From September 2023, I am studying mathematics in English at the University of Groningen. I have 5+ years of experience in tutoring mathematics.
Despite my interest in mathematics, I know that not everyone enjoys numbers, equations, functions or derivatives and integrals and I am ready to teach you not only these areas to the best of my ability.
I try to design my tutoring sessions in a friendly atmosphere, because that is where learning is best!

It can be difficult to write essays in perfect English, especially as an international student. There is no need to worry! I can help with that.
Coming from a British School, I speak and write in perfect English. I have a lot of experience in the art of crafting a perfect essay.
If you send me your completed essay, I can thoroughly proofread it for you and correct any grammar and structural mistakes. I can also give you some suggestions on how to make the essay clear and compelling.

I myself am a medicine student, but I have experience in writing essays in many fields. I am therefore ready to help with proofreading essays in any subject. In addition, I can speak five languages fluently (English, Dutch, Italian, German and French) so I can also help with translation.

I've been teaching for several years, starting with teaching physical education and after some time stood in front of the class teaching students Dutch and history.

The first time we meet we'll be discussing your needs so I'll be able to make a plan that suits your desires. The classes will be interactive and relevant! My aim is to make ideas clear by giving examples and repetition.
Im a very enthusiastic, open minded person who loves to interact with people and teach them the lovely Dutch language.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask :)

I am a data analyst with a strong passion for data and machine learning.
I have a strong statistical background. During my academic experience I delve deep in the world of statistics and probability. I have programming skills in particular using R and python.

After my university career I worked as a data analyst for 3 years, teaching in basic and advance machine learning courses, so I already have experience in teaching.
I am very friendly and very patient with people. Join me in this data and statistics journey, during which I will try to transfer my passion for data in rìthe easiest and funniest way possible!

***ENGLISH BELOW***
Hello! My name is Sanne (25) and I have a Master's degree in Biochemistry. I am currently a trainee teacher and am working on obtaining a first-degree teaching qualification. I enjoy supporting students with the subject matter and sharing my enthusiasm for STEM subjects. I have now helped more than 20 students with biology, chemistry, and mathematics.

During the tutoring sessions, we actively work together on assignments, and I help you learn to solve problems independently. In addition, it is important that you practice independently between lessons.

I offer support with:
- Clearing backlogs
- Specific chapters or topics that are difficult
- Preparation for school exams and central exams (vmbo, havo and vwo)
- VAVO, state examination, and CCVX tracks

I offer tutoring at my home in Groningen West, but tutoring at your home is also possible. I charge a travel allowance for this (see rates).

My lessons are practical, personalised, and focused mainly on helping you feel confident speaking English in real-life situations. Conversation is at the centre of each class, but we can also work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, writing, or any specific area you would like to improve. Lessons usually last one hour and are adapted to your level, goals, and interests. Whether you are a beginner or already have a good level of English, I aim to create a relaxed and supportive environment where you can practise, improve, and enjoy learning.
