About Me

I’m a Belgian (Flemish) classical violinist who studied a violin masters of performance and education in Antwerp and Brussels, Belgium. Now I’ve moved to Gothenburg for a masters specialised in orchestra playing. I'm 27 years old, come from a family of musicans and playing music is the biggest part of my day. I'm classically trained but experimenting a lot in other genres, too, such as bluegrass and folk.

The past years, I’ve been collecting a lot of teaching experience. Next to private lessons at home I’ve also been teaching violin, piano improvisation and music initiation in official music academies from the state as well as independent music ateliers in Belgium. In teaching different subjects to many different people (aged 6-70, from children that could hardly read to university professors), I’ve worked out a very personal way of teaching that works great for both me as for the student.

I'm a British Musician currently studying my Master's Degree in Orchestral Music Performance at the Högskolan för Scen och Musik in Gothenburg. Before moving to Sweden I finished my undergrad at the Royal Academy of Music in London, and have had 5 years of experience working professionally as a musician across the UK.
I have plenty of experience teaching the French horn privately (my main instrument) to any age and I was the Brass teacher at a private school in Guildford for two years, where I taught kids playing on all brass instruments.
I would also be confident teaching music theory too, to all levels and ages.

My musical journey has taken me from Singapore to the USA, UK, and Sweden, with studies at Singapore’s School of the Arts, Chetham’s School of Music in Manchester, Meadowmount School of Music (USA), the Royal College of Music in London, and the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg.

I hold two violin performance diplomas (LTCL and LRSM), a distinction in ABRSM Grade 8 piano performance, and was awarded the top Ash Music Scholarship at Imperial College London, where I studied violin under Professor Rashkovsky. During my time there, I won the Imperial College Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition, performing Prokofiev’s Second Violin Concerto in Helsinki, London, and Southampton. I have also given solo recitals and performed extensively in chamber ensembles, with concerts ranging from Sibelius’ house in Finland to venues across the UK.

My deepest passion is chamber music, and one of my main motivations as a teacher is to make classical music enjoyable and approachable. I want to help break away from the stereotype that it is grand, pretentious, or boring. In an age of digitalisation and AI, I believe strongly in sharing the human side of music making.
