Recorder lessons and musical training for adults and children
From 69.98 C$ /h
As an experienced music teacher, I offer recorder and music theory lessons for children and adults of all ages and skill levels!
Originally from Brazil, I have been teaching music for several years. A graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, I have extensive experience as a music teacher, having given private lessons and taught in music academies in Belgium and elsewhere. I develop a unique method for each student so that they can learn in a solid and enjoyable way.
The recorder is an easy instrument to learn, making it a great opportunity for children to begin their musical journey. It provides an initial introduction to musical notation and helps develop their ear. I offer students a fun and dynamic learning experience, where music is made from the very first lesson.
For adults... If you're a beginner, don't worry!
I will teach you how to produce the first sounds on your new instrument, how to blow correctly, how to adopt a good posture, etc. I will help you build, step by step, a solid basic technique that will allow you to play any piece on the flute.
If you are an advanced student or already possess a solid foundation in your instrument, I propose working on refining your technique, taking into account each repertoire. We will explore creativity and sound to produce an increasingly beautiful and eloquent musical expression.
Lessons can take place at the student's home or the teacher's home in Forest. Travel expenses are negotiable depending on the distance.
Feel free to contact me to discover this magnificent instrument!

About Me
Thiago was born in Juiz de Fora, Brazil, and began his musical studies at the Brasília School of Music in 2008. In 2009, he joined Professor Karla Dias's recorder class. This gave him the opportunity to play in various chamber music ensembles and solo recitals, performing Baroque and Renaissance works. He also participated in several music festivals, including the 22nd, 24th, and 26th Juiz de Fora Early Music Festival, as well as the 34th, 35th, and 36th Brasília International Summer Courses. Concurrently, he studied history at the University of Brasília, graduating in 2015.
He received recorder instruction from César Villavicencio, Ricardo Kanji, Peter van Heyghen and Bart Spanhove. He also studied chamber music with Claudio Ribeiro, Luis Otavio Santos and Jacques Ogg.
In 2015, he joined the recorder class of Nathalie Houtman and Frédérice de Roos at the Royal Conservatory of Brussels, where he continued his studies in early, contemporary (with Tomma Wessel), and medieval (with Katelijne Laneau) music. In 2021, he graduated with a master's degree in recorder performance with distinction. That same year, he was invited to lead research workshops on French music as part of the Mastriceli program in the Early Music Department of the Conservatory.
Thiago continued his studies in the pedagogy department of the Brussels Conservatory, where he obtained a master's degree in pedagogy in 2023. In 2025, he earned an advanced master's degree in recorder pedagogy, during which he conducted innovative research on group pedagogy in higher education. He spent a year working on the repertoire of Brazilian popular music with recorder students at the Conservatory.
Currently, he teaches in music academies in Belgium and continues his research in the field of music education in order to open up more democratic and inclusive spaces for creation and cultural appropriation.
