Hello! I have just completed my A-levels (predicted A*, A, A) at Stoke Newington School and Sixth Form, and I'd like to tutor GCSE and SAT students in English Literature and Language (my favourite subject) during my gap year. I have experience working with children and teenagers as a qualified assistant swimming instructor, as well as helping my younger brother improve and maintain his grades. I have also worked with children with special needs. My teaching methodology emphasises positive reinforcement and planning. I break down the syllabus into manageable chunks, and make sure to explain new concepts as simply as possible. The GCSE English curriculum may appear daunting, but I promise to demystify it. As a level 9 (A**) student, I know what is required to achieve top marks. My main priority is helping all of my students to achieve their full potential.

I teach an understanding of these subjects so that students can pass and achieve in the exam but if they want to develop their knowledge beyond the exam this can be done also. I've spent a lot of time struggling to understand these subjects so you don't have to.

I am a trained professional singer with a Bachelors degree in music from the University of Bristol. As well as singing, I play piano and conduct a professional choir. I'm based near Blackhorse Road station in Walthamstow and teach in my house. I teach all ages and all levels for singing and am happy either working towards grades or just singing for fun. I also teach music theory up to grade 5 to provide pupils with a strong foundation for progressing to the higher grades. I am able to provide socially distant lessons within my own home as well as online. For me the most important thing about music lessons is that they should be enjoyable, whether or not you are working towards an exam. Singing can improve confidence in young children, provide a space to let off some steam for adults or anything in between. I tweak my lesson style based on what you want to get out of the time. I have a 100% pass rate for all my pupils for both singing and theory.

I have experience tutoring children and teenagers to help them prepare for their exams (GCSE, A-Level), to boost their confidence when speaking and writing, or just to ensure what they learned in class has been clearly understood. I have also helped quite a few adult friends practice and improve their spoken French, and I would love to help you do so too! I strongly believe the student should be at the centre of the tutor’s attention and planning every step of the way. Every tutee is different, and I will always spend the first hour discussing what their expectations are, what has worked best for them until then, and what they are struggling with. If their attention span is short, I will make sure to both work with it by adapting my lessons and work to improve it over time. If exam anxiety prevents them from achieving the results they could, I will include regular mock exams. I want my tutees to feel at ease and stress-free during our lessons, and making our time together safe and comfortable is crucial to me.

For instrumentalists, we will look at the piano and some of its different techniques - classical, jazz, accompanying yourself, with focus on what the student actually wants to learn. *** English Version Below *** Hello, 👨‍🎓 My name is Mathieu and I offer my services for help with homework or private lessons, whatever the course, from college to terminal. 📚 Student in business school at ESCP Europe, I also have a license in applied mathematics obtained at the Panthéon Sorbonne University in Paris. I have given lessons for preparatory students for the past two years, as well as lessons for second and first graders. ⏱During the course, I think it is important to ensure that an exercise is understood by having the student redo it, rather than accumulating the exercises done with the student without ensuring that they have been assimilated. 🏠 I am located in South Hampstead and I can move around London. Regards, Mathieu. *** Version Française *** Hi, 👨‍🎓My name is Mathieu and I give private lessons, no matter the subject, from junior school to high school. 📚 Student at ESCP for a Master in Management, I also have a degree of applied Mathematics from the Parisian university Pantheon Sorbonne. I have given lessons to undergraduate students (preparatory classes to the French "Grandes Ecoles") and to high school students. ⏱ Sessions are conducted in a timely manner, so to make sure the student understands the material clearly and well, the process in which I teach is through repetitions rather than piling the exercices. 🏠 I live in South Hampstead but can move around London. Sincerely yours, Mathieu.
