At The Hap'ning Place we offer Kodaly Music Theory Lessons to all ages.

The Kodaly Method is an extremely successful way to learn musicianship; initially with the instrument you are born with (your voice!!)

Kodály's concepts are based on teaching, learning and understanding music through the experience of singing, giving direct access to the world of music with the most universal instrument. The Kodály approach to music education is student centered and skills are taught in a logical, sequential manner.

These can be individual lessons, as a part of your instrumental training or taken as a separate class.
If there are enough students, we will offer a group class and reduce the rate per person.

We offer Singing Lessons to all ages and levels of ability with our enthusiastic, professional teachers. Our lessons are available at two locations in Crouch End (N8) and Thursdays in Crouch End and Mayfair (W1K).

With a sound vocal technique, our singers are encouraged to try as many styles of singing as possible. We have jazz, folk, classical, contemporary, and musical workshops for our students.

Our singers enjoy learning in our spacious, welcoming rooms and have many opportunities to sing in our choirs, productions, jazz and other workshops throughout the year.

Lessons can be for your own pleasure or we can also prepare you for the graded examinations or auditions.

Hello there, I am Jools, London based session musician and music tutor.
I have classical training on piano, having studied for 11 years. I was lucky enough to work for FunKeys For Kids: that gave the chance to do peripatetic teaching and work with kids. And definitely there is nothing better than trying to show the passion for music.
My classes are generally for beginners and whoever wants to step into learning piano.
I do as well one to one tuitions where I am focusing more on right and left hand technique, sight reading, harmony.

My name is Aoibheann, I am originally from Ireland but have been living in London almost 2 years. I am a piano teacher who has studied piano for over 12 years. I have studied Grade 8 Piano and Music Theory. I have also studied at an undergraduate level in Music. I have a patient, fun, and enthusiastic approach to teaching, having taught adults and children it is vital to create a safe environment built on mutual respect.
My main interests in teaching is helping students create a love for playing and nurturing that through playing pieces they will love. My background is in mainly classical music, however, I can tutor in pop, musical theatre, and various other genres. I have taught both first-time players and people wishing to return to the keys. Bass player Eoin is a seasoned industry professional who has worked all over the world with some of the music industry’s most highly-regarded players over the past 13 years including Mark Lettieri (Snarky Puppy) and Ariel Posen. Eoin is now providing unparalleled music education in London and online.

Eoin has a wealth of experience as a music educator, having taught on the BMus, Cert HE, BASW, BACM and MMus programmes ICMP in London since 2019 and also running his own private teaching practice.

Recent career highlights include touring Europe with Snarky Puppy guitarist Mark Lettieri and performing with guitar superstar Ariel Posen for Eric Clapton's Crossroads Guitar Festival at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. Locally, Eoin is a regular at Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club in London, performing both in the main venue downstairs and upstairs at the popular Cosmic Fusion jam night.

Eoin holds a Bachelor of Music degree and a Master of Arts in Music degree from the Cork School of Music, both with first class honours.

Eoin’s areas of teaching expertise include bass guitar technique, understanding the fretboard of the bass, harmony, music theory, sight-reading, improvisation, ear training, synth bass, navigating the industry, career advice and more.

I have experience singing jazz, pop and musical theatre and have completed one year on a Vocal Studies course at a Music Conservatoire. Hey! My name is Seán, and I am an Irish singer-songwriter based in London with 2 years of teaching experience. I teach a range of disciplines, including piano, guitar, vocals, songwriting, and music theory. Having taught students of all ages and different levels of musicianship, I am pleased to say that I have built long-lasting relationships with many of my students. With an emphasis on creativity and student input; my lessons allow students to discover their own playing style and musical direction.
