Learn French and French culture in a simple way

From 53 C$ /h

Born in Toulouse in the south of France, I am a director and currently a master's student.
I support you in your learning of French whether you are a beginner or want to improve your skills. My courses are based on varied activities to make learning lively and immersive.
We will read together excerpts from literary texts and newspaper articles, in order to strengthen your written comprehension and enrich your vocabulary. We can also listen to radio shows or watch film excerpts to develop your oral comprehension while discovering French-speaking culture and I would be happy to introduce you to films.
I also favor everyday discussions, expressions...
Passionate about history, art, geography and cooking, I can talk to you about French culture with great pleasure.
The whole point is that this teaching is fun and joyful.

I look forward to meeting you.
See you soon,
Justine

About Me

I'm a filmmaker and a master's student in video and performance at an art school in Brussels. I'm sociable, curious about others, and just as comfortable with children as with adults. I'm passionate about teaching. I speak English and have a basic knowledge of Spanish and Italian, which helps me understand the difficulties of people learning a language.
I'd be delighted to support you in learning French, through a lively, conversational approach.

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Visual Arts (film specialization) at HEAD-Geneva, with special mention from the jury;
Master's degree in Storytelling and Experimentation (video specialization) at ERG Brussels

Experience / Qualifications

I've made films that have been shown at numerous festivals. I've also performed in various cultural venues across Europe. I'm shooting my next short film next year.

FLE teacher graduated from the Alliance française Bruxelles-Europe. I taught in Laos (1 year in a local school) in Peru (1 year in a college and in a French alliance), in Moscow (2 years in a private language school), in Brussels (6 month in an association that delivers courses to newcomers and the F9 for private and group lessons at the ULB).
The type of teaching that I favor is based on active pedagogy, constant interaction of the learner with his teacher and his environment, a cultural exchange and a clear and precise understanding of the objectives to be achieved.
To apply this practice I use a lot: authentic documents (radio and TV programs, articles, reports, songs, testimonials, ...), the role play (theatrical exercises), games are a founding element of my teaching (playful and recreational approach of the language), the debates (the experience and the personal history being the raw material to animate them), reading (books and comics: phonetics), the grammatical exercises in adequacy with the theme ( didactics of FLE and grammatical methodology)

➤ Learn French with a successful technique: the main objective is to acquire bases or improve your level in French (written & oral: pronunciation, comprehension, language construction, communication, conjugation, grammar & vocabulary). It is also to understand the cultural specificities of Switzerland & France.

➤ Whether it is for work or leisure, the classes are adjusted to the initial diagnosis and to your needs.

➤ The method focuses on your own goals and:

• are adjusted to your own rhythm, with (funny) oral and writing exercises
• help to improve your everyday/practical skills
• on interactivity: you learn much more quickly with private sessions and you develop listening and vocabulary skills in an effective way
• these classes are customized courses to create an environment adjusted to each person, to meet your individual needs & requirements, and to learn French effectively.

➤ Statistically, you will be able to notice that you have progressed with these private classes, after 2 or 3 classes (based on our 2023 survey).

1. What is the TOEIC?

The TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication) is a language test developed by the Educational Testing Service (Princeton, USA). It measures/demonstrates the language skills that everyone in today's multinational work environment needs to communicate successfully in a foreign language.

2. Who uses the TOEIC?

The TOEIC test is one of the most widely used English-language tests in the world, with more than 14,000 organizations and universities in more than 160 countries relying on TOEIC scores to make important decisions.

3. What is the TOEIC used for?

The TOEIC is used to help organisations to:
• Select, hire, and/or promote their employees based on their level of English
• Select employees with adequate English language skills to participate in English language programs or training.
• Standardize the level of English language proficiency within the company.
Universities and other higher education institutions use this test to:
• Accept prospective students into their English-speaking undergraduate and graduate programs
• Measure their students’ progress
• Issue an internationally recognized English language certificate to their students.

4. How can I help you?

• I will evaluate your English proficiency level
• I will introduce you to the format and structure of the test: remember, knowing the type of tasks is half the battle!
• I will provide you with a lot of exercises and materials, and we will practice a lot
• Depending on your needs, we can focus on the Listening and Reading Test, the Speaking and Writing Tests, or both
• During the preparation, if you get to an area that is going harder, then we will do more exercises related to it or them (grammar, pronunciation, listening comprehension).

Hello to all of you!
I welcome you to my profile.
You would like to learn French and I would also like to teach you French.
Fortunately, French is my native language. I live in Brussels where I have taught many French courses to French speakers and also to non-French speakers in the framework of FLE (French as a Foreign Language), mostly face-to-face and also some distance learning. I want to expand the use of distance learning.
Hence my presence on this site.
My greatest wish is to help you make as much progress as possible in French.
To this end, I use a judicious combination of oral and written exchanges.
I use these conversations to introduce grammatical concepts and expand your vocabulary. All this in a fun and friendly atmosphere!
You will have to express yourself a lot in French, because my level of Dutch is average. In fact, I speak it at a "normal" pace, but with a more limited vocabulary and expressions than yours.
This may seem a little frustrating at first, but it is a real benefit to you as it forces you to express yourself in French as much as possible!
It's all in your favor!
Please contact me as soon as possible so that we can start a fruitful cooperation.

It depends on the age of the person I'm teaching, but I would switch between reading, listening and talking exercises. A small text would have to be written for the next hour, so we can go through it together. Obviously I am very spontaneous and able to switch my program, so every individual person is learning at their perfect level.
