Bernadette - experienced and accredited cello teacher in Aix centre-ville. 5 minute walk from La Rotonde.

After 25 years of practice and 18 years as a cello teacher in various Australian and UK schools as well as privately (since 2005), I can teach either in English or in French.

With my experience of teaching and sharing my passion for the cello,
I offer lessons tailored to individual needs:
-Ages: 5 years to adult
-Beginners to advanced
-Prep exams, conservatory/school admissions, auditions, competitions
-Lessons for fun or leisure
-Perfecting all aspects of technique
-Revisiting or starting the basics
-Adaptable to all levels, all learning styles, all tastes, using a variety of methods.

I have completed both a Master's and Bachelor of Performance (Violoncello) at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Australia, (completed in 2014), where I also studied String Pedagogy and Music Theory (Solfege, Harmony and Aural Perception (dictation etc.), Music History alongside solo, chamber music and ensemble and orchestral studies). I was also a member of the Australian Youth Orchestra (notably Chamber Players in Sydney and AYO Momentum Ensemble National Tours), and since joined professional orchestras such as the Auckland Philharmonia (New Zealand) and the international Southbank Sinfonia in London UK, (currently known as the Sinfonia Smith Square Orchestra).

I am now based in Aix-en-Provence where I am perfecting my French!

I currently work around Aix-Marseille as a professional cellist: as a member of the Ensemble Giocoso, of the Symphonia Meditéranée (Symphonia 13), and as a substitute cellist with the Opéra de Marseille for both operas and symphonic concerts. I also play chamber music concerts in duo, trios, etc, with piano, violin and other instrumentalists around Aix.

I would be happy to provide you with my full resumé and/or recordings to my playing if you so desire.
