About Me
Music is the passion that is very close to my heart. I like to share this passion with others. My training is classical singing, but I just like to teach pop or jazz. I help you choose the repertoire that suits your personal taste, voice and level. After all, every student is unique and determines my starting point time and again. I concentrate on good technique exercises and personal talent development. I pay attention to both technicality (pure singing technique) and repertoire structure with an eye for interpretation. I like to take your musical wish list into account. My students are both beginners and advanced who want to direct their career. Through singing I guide you on the way to being in the world with more confidence. I am here to guide you in recognizing and appreciating your voice. Anyone can sing, I am convinced!
Education
After a bachelor's degree in Classical Singing in France at the Conservatory of Lille with soprano Annick My, I obtained my master's degree with honors at the Conservatory of Antwerp with Anne Cambier. Afterwards I completed my education with an Educational Master. I also attended masterclasses with Lucienne van Dijk, Jozef de Beenhouwer, Guy Joosten, Jan Philip Schulze, Roger Vignoles, Sandrine Pau and Gabriel Tacchino, among others.
Experience / Qualifications
My career started in 2010 with the role of Olympia de Pop in Les Contes d'Hoffmann by Charles Offenbach, an opera production by Paul-Emile Fourny (director of the Opera of Metz). In 2011 I sang the solo part of Psalm 42 by Felix Mendelssohn with choir and orchestra from Nord Pas de Calais conducted by Eric Deltour. In the same year I sang regularly in the Theater de Sébastopol in Lille, where I performed works by Bernstein and Bizet, among others. From 2013 my career was launched as a soloist. I have sung most of the jeune premiere roles of well-known operettas. In 2019, I was elected as a soprano soloist with Opera Vlaanderen in the performance The Toy by Spallanzani, a performance for children. With the Flemish Symphony Orchestra conducted by Bart van Casteren I sang the role of Frasquita from Bizet's Carmen.

SONGS generally consist of chord and text lines. But where does that information come from and how do you make something out of nothing? How do you make that one great hIT or how strongly does your new song affect your love? Well, that's called "inspiration processing" and how does that work? Well, I'll tell you that in my course.
If you already play the guitar or piano, you are one step ahead. Your instrument is like a trampoline that offers you more options to go further and higher.
Most 'songs' are born at the craziest moments. A good songwriter his / her antennas are always open :-) and for some it is a continuous activity.
During my course I teach you through all sorts of tips and tricks (including: Travel Chord Duo Method - One Four Five and minor input - Key Word Designation and Relative Chord Progressions etc.) how you can achieve strong songs.
For me it is a daily activity and I have been writing all my life for others and sometimes for myself. All in all I have sold more than a million copies worldwide as an author / composer / performer. Is that little or is that a lot? I do not know. It doesn't interest me that much anymore.
I want to share my knowledge about how to write a song with motivated people who want to go further than just replaying others' songs. Whether they get stuck somewhere during composing and who are not afraid to seek advice.
Music is a life flirt. There are only two types of music: good and bad ...
Do you have a foundation of chords, do you want to know how to make a good song .....? Just book an hour to get started. That is the scan hour. Are we lying together and is there a click? If you book and I confirm, then you also know who I am and where I hide :-) Not satisfied after the first 'lesson'?
Money Back.

Hi!

Have you always wanted to learn to sing?
Is your voice getting tired after singing (alone or in a choir)?
Do you want to be better at singing?
Are you curious about what your voice can do?
Do you sing in a choir and need extra help putting together the material in between rehearsals?

I love passing on the knowledge of my craft. The mechanics of the voice is such a small and intricate thing, and knowing what goes inside our throat and body is a very special experience. I get excited and moved every time a student achieves a new skill, and takes another step towards a deeper understanding of their voice.
On top of my experience as a singer and a teacher, I have a degree in linguistics. That allows me to know exactly what has to be done inside your throat and mouth in order to produce a specific sound. I can therefore adapt to each student: if they have an analytic mind, I can explain what goes on inside and what should be done to improve that. If they have an instinctive mind, I can help with metaphor in order to help the phonation. Or both! My method is multi-faceted because each voice is unique, and it is my job to adapt, and not the contrary.

How does a lesson work?
The first time we meet, we will talk about your journey in the music world. What have you done yet music wise, what artists and genres inspire you, what are your goals. Then we will do what we do in every regular lesson: I will direct you during some warming-up exercises, that include vocal technique work (if you have already warmed up, we just do a few exercises about technique), and then we will work on whatever you want. I ask my students to always come with at least one piece of music they want to work on (or maybe two, depends on the time we have on hands).

See you soon!
