Hello,

I'm a professional violinist originally from Slovakia who moved to Berlin. I teach violin as a private teacher since 2005. I love working with people, both children, and adults and I always want to give them as much as I can from my knowledge. Very important for me as a teacher is to teach music in the whole spectrum. I teach my students technical skills, classical music, rock songs, jazz and start developing improvisational skills as soon as possible, which is very important for developing their own musical personality.

In my lessons, you can learn everything you need to improve your musical skills from technique to understanding the music. If you prefer some specific style, you can choose if it's classical violin and you would like to work on a repertoire, technique, bow technique, vibrato, phrasing or you would like to learn how to play jazz, blues, improvisation, chopping on violin, rock style or just to learn the songs of your choice. Everything will be accompanied by a music theory which is very important for understanding music.

About Me

I'm a professional violinist originally from Slovakia moved to Berlin. I'm an active musician with wide experience as a solo player, chamber, orchestra or studio player. I'm focusing not only on classical music but also on jazz, swing, improvisation and folklor.

My personal project is called, which won the "Golden Gander 2015" award for the best performance at the Kremnické Gagy Festival with a Swing set. The band is playing songs from swing, balkan, slovak music to currently original songs in prog-pop style. You can listen us on youtube :)

I perform also as a soloist and member of chamber ensembles, and as a sought-after studio violinist i was contributed to a number of CDs, movies or for an advertising spots. I recorded solo violin for the Czech movie directed by Ivan Pokorný, "Promissed Princess" – and also portrayed one of the princesses in the film: The one with the violin, of course :)
I recorded violin for ballet drama “Storm” (A.N. Ostrovskij) by Michal Vejskal, or the soundtrack by V. for the film “Intimacy” directed by Ivo Macharáček.

This year I was performing also with the amazing Moka Efti Orchestra, the music from the Tv Series Babylon Berlin written by Nikko Weidemann und Mario Kamien. In 2019 I participate in the show of Taylor Mac's project "A-24 Decade History of Popular Music" in Berlin from New York based Pomegranate Art Production in collaboration with Immersion and Berliner Festspiele.

I head also the Slovak folklor band, sing and dance in the innovative new circus-theatre show “Younak”: an ensemble comprising among others of two violins, a Slovakian box zither, a bass, guitar and an accordion. “Younak” is a unique mix of folklore, traditional dance, non-verbal theatre and music, and marries elements of traditional folk music and improvisation with modern stage music. The piece is staged by world-renowned Spanish director Adrian Schvarzstein, with performances mounted throughout Europe.

I collaborated with numerous celebrities, bands and Djs /Robers Soko and Balkan Beats, USB-Universal Swing Brothers/ belonging to the contemporary music scene.

I'm a professional violin and piano teacher who studied MgA. program at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and since 2005 I'm teaching both instruments, institutionally and also privately. Working with people, children and adults does make a big sense to me and I always want to give my students as much as I can from my knowledge.

With my students, I focus to improve musical skills from technique to understanding the music. Everything is accompanied by a music theory. I can teach viola classes at all levels, and violin to students up to the sixth of Professional Grade. I can also teach music theory at all levels and support the study of other subjects taught at the conservatory, such as music history, analysis, orchestra, chamber music, etc.
I believe that the teacher must be able to adapt a lot to the student, and especially in music I find it very important to understand the sensitivity and difficulties of each student. I consider myself a demanding person, but very empathetic and patient.

My name is Daniela, and I am a cross-over violist from Costa Rica. I moved to the Netherlands in 2020 to pursue my studies at Codarts Conservatory in Rotterdam, where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Classical Music (Viola).
