This class is open to all ages and experience levels, from complete beginners to those with an existing painting practice. The sessions can be shaped around your individual interests and what you would like to explore through painting.

For those interested in developing technical skills, we can focus on materials, paint handling, color, composition, and different approaches to building a painting. For those drawn to abstraction, the class can take a more exploratory direction, helping you discover your own visual interests through experiments with color, form, composition, and material.

Rather than following a single method, the aim is to develop a more personal and intuitive understanding of painting while building practical skills along the way.

Having your own materials for the class is recommended, as this allows you to choose what you would like to work with and develop a practice around materials that interest you. We can decide together what would be most suitable, and I can offer recommendations based on your interests.

About Me

I am a contemporary visual artist and painter based in Berlin. My practice focuses on painting, with a particular interest in color, light, perception, abstraction, and composition. I have been working professionally as an artist since 2020 and regularly exhibit my work internationally.

My approach to teaching is flexible and shaped around each student’s interests and experience. I enjoy working both with complete beginners who want to understand materials and painting techniques, and with more experienced students who want to develop their own visual language or explore abstraction. Rather than teaching one fixed way of painting, I aim to help students become more confident with materials, experiment, and discover what interests them individually.

Education

I got my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art from New York University Steinhardt. Graduated in 2019. Living in Berlin as a visual artist on a freelance visa since May 2026.

Professional visual artist and painter working full-time since 2020, with experience exhibiting internationally in galleries, art fairs, and artist residencies. My practice has given me extensive hands-on experience with painting techniques, color, composition, materials, and abstraction. I also have experience giving private beginner painting lessons to both children and adults.

I offer drawing, painting, and 3-dimensional sculpture courses and opportunities for students to explore the different mediums and create an impressive portfolio. I will prepare students to develop their interest in three-dimensional work. Students will be creating work with Cray and 3-dimensional materials. The course will begin withdrawing lessons, model building, and work in clay. Later students will experience mixed media sculptures with other materials. I can help students who wish to create an impressive portfolio for their university preparation. I have fine arts degree from Chicago and works as a studio artist and art teacher.

why draw, how to draw?

- in a world where everyone can take photos with their cell phone, why still draw?

- Is drawing an attempt to capture reality or is it a tool to comment on it?

The lessons are an invitation for beginners and advanced learners to try out various practical techniques and discuss the results.

When it comes to drawing, one of the biggest obstacles is letting go of self-criticism and just starting and working. We will deal precisely with this difficulty. We will learn through extraordinary exercises how to simply train the hands and at the same time suspend the critical mind.

Later, we will focus on observing the drawings and try to understand the mystery of what works and what doesn't.

My name is Oded, I am originally from Israel. After 6 years of studying, I completed my studies at the UdK in 2019. In recent years I have participated in several exhibitions and residency programs.
My main artworks are films, watercolor paintings and comics.

Movement can be funny, so can you or not. You chose or not. Being funny can be learned as being expressive.

I have studied Lecoq Technique(Pantomime, Tragedy, Drama, Mask Theater, Clown) and Decroux (Mime Corporel). These are physical theater approaches. I am passionate about moving the body in space and the effect it brings. Finding the humor in the physicality and rhythm delightens my everyday life and I am happy to share the fun.

This course focuses on the search for a personal language or the student's style, in which different techniques and styles, both traditional and digital, will be worked on to help the student find a language with which they feel comfortable and make it their own.
All this through traditional techniques as well as digital ones, such as Photoshop, Zbrush, Cinema 4D, Illustrator, etc.
Specifically, we have extensive experience in using Photoshop.

Conversation + is a new conversation based format that combines grammar, syntax, understanding vocabulary and expressions as well as the practice of correct pronunciation and intonation with the reading of a text of your choosing. On the basis of a selected text the conversation evolves around the topics at hand; parallel to this, we discuss anything language-related that comes up. Any question, any problem can be addressed. In this way, linguistic issues can be explored in greater depth, based on your specific field(s) of interest. This fosters a stronger engagement, promotes enthusiasm, and openness that oftentimes fall short in a classic language course situation.

Watercolor is a fascinating technique, but it can be demanding and often feels unpredictable. In these in-studio classes, we will approach watercolor as a relationship between water, pigment, and paper. You will learn to predict and control the medium—and, once you've mastered that, to use it more spontaneously.

I teach a solid, step-by-step method to build a watercolor painting from the ground up. We will explore a range of techniques (working on dry paper, on wet paper, glazing (velatura), creating textures, etc.) as well as brushstroke fundamentals. Along the way, I'll share practical suggestions and tips I've gathered from my own teachers and years of practice.

The class focuses on the technical aspects of watercolor: controlling the medium and consciously achieving the desired figuration. It is through this deep, hands-on knowledge that a more expressive dimension of the practice can naturally emerge.

We will cover key topics such as values, temperature (warm-cold contrast), and color theory.

This class is open to both beginners and advanced painters who wish to refine their technique. A basic foundation in drawing is highly recommended for the initial sketch. Each lesson includes all necessary supply materials.
