My name is Léna, and I offer violin lessons for all ages and skill levels. I have many years of experience in private instruction and am currently completing my Master of Pedagogy at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FHNW) in Basel. I particularly enjoy the duality of learning: building a solid foundation and working on technique, which ultimately allows one to experience complete freedom and joy on the instrument. I personally find the balance between the two by working according to the principles of the Alexander Technique and paying attention to physical health and the sustainability of playing. I implement this in my teaching; I find it very important to tailor the lessons, exercises, and method closely to the goals and personality of the students.

I also have a master's degree in violin with an old scale, which I completed at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis. Early music is my other great passion, so there's always the opportunity to learn about historical performance practice!

After more than 23 years of playing this wonderful instrument, the freedom of music still inspires me and keeps me going.

Mein Name ist Léna, ich bin Musikerin und Musiklehrerin und wohne in Basel (ich schliesse gerade meinen zweiten Master – jetzt in Pädagogik an der FHNW ab), nachdem ich in Wien (Bachelor of Performance - summa cum laude) und Basel - Schola Cantorum Basiliensis (Master of Performance) studiert habe. In den letzten Jahren habe ich begonnen, mich mehr und mehr auf das Unterrichten zu konzentrieren, da es mir viel Freude bereitet, meine Liebe und Leidenschaft für dieses Instrument weiterzugeben. Für diejenigen, die sich für Alte Musik interessieren, biete ich Geigenunterricht im Bereich Barock/Klassik/Romantik an. Hier kann man kurze und lange Bögen, verschiedene Tonhöhen, verschiedene Haltungen der Instrumente entdecken, sowie intensiv experimentieren und historische Quellen kennenlernen.

Ein wenig über mein Berufsleben: Ich konzertiere regelmäßig international als Kammermusiker, Solist und Mitglied renommierter Orchester. Ich bin in der Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, der Berliner Philharmonie, dem Teatro Real in Madrid, dem Stadtcasino Basel und vielen anderen aufgetreten. Zu den letzten musikalischen Höhepunkten zählen Konzerte beim Festival du Périgold Noir (FR), trigonale - festival der alten musik (AT), Festival Aix en Provence (FR) und den Herbstfestspielen, Baden-Baden (DE).

My name is Léna, and I offer violin lessons for all ages and skill levels. I have many years of experience in private teaching and am currently completing my Master of Pedagogy at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts in Basel. As an MA Performance graduate of the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis, one of my greatest passions is engaging with historically informed performance practice. I look forward to exploring the world of gut strings, short and long bows, different pitches, and, if you're feeling particularly adventurous, the various positions of the baroque violin with you!

I am singer, classically trained with a main focus in early music and voice embodiment. I also studied recorder, clarinet and musicology.

As a teacher and performer, I focus on a joyful, healthy and technically skilled way of singing. I focus not only on the sound production, but also on body posture, relaxation and organic movement. An happy and relaxed body creates a beautiful, natural and relaxed sound.
We choose the repertoire together and work together towards developing your voice, your expressivity, text and style interpretation at your fullest potential.

I have experience teaching several music genres, from classical, jazz, pop, folk music and even extended vocal techniques like growls. I am quite open to the students requests and always willing to research deeper and expand my vocal vocabulary.

Singing is a vulnerable, intimate and also communal act. Sadly, our modern world has mystified it into the sphere of the "born-talent" ideal, which often scares people from even trying to sing. I find this phenomena a cruel and exclusivist perspective on singing.

I consider singing an universal right, and we should all be unashamed of singing, be it in your bathtub, while walking on the street, in a dinner with friends, or in the next open stage at your local bar.

We all have the capacity and the right to sing.
If anybody has told you that you can't sing, they were wrong. Like any skill, you can learn it.
And if you sing, you, your body, and your soul will be happier.

One of my students once said: "You come for a singing lesson and you discover something new about who you are". I think that would summarize well the space I try to create in my lessons.

In my career, my life is frozen, my Lust, my Motivation, and my Ratschläge, my life is erroneous. Even though the settings are individual and personal, the programs are different.

Since I have been teaching violin and music, not a day has gone by without me saying to myself that motivation and pleasure are the greatest drivers of learning. This is why I always favor a relaxed and work-friendly atmosphere during my classes. Technique is of course of great importance to me.

I am a piano teacher with over 30 years of experience, passionate about nurturing musical talent at every age and level. After completing my bachelor's degree in violin at the Basel University of Music with Prof. Barbara Doll, I am now excited to begin my master's degree in violin pedagogy. I’m a professional violinist and passionate teacher.

My course is designed for motivated violinists who are looking for guidance to grow and advance, as well as for beginners interested in discovering the world of the violin.
My teaching approach focuses on developing a strong musical sense together with a clear and structured methodology that ensures complete technical training. Among my greatest interests are pedagogy and psychology ; I read extensively on these topics to become the most well-rounded teacher I can be, capable of helping children, teenagers, and adults in their musical learning.

I completed my Bachelor’s studies at the HMTMH Hannover (graduating with top marks, German 1.0 / Swiss 6.0 equivalent), and I am currently finishing my Specialized Master in Music Performance and Specialized Master in Chamber Music at the Musik Akademie Basel.
I have extensive experience in concert and ensemble performance and have been among the laureates of the Arthur Grumiaux International Violin Competition, the Città di Padova International Violin Competition, the Feast of Duos Sion, and a finalist at the ROSL Chamber Music Competition in London.
With my ensemble Trio Venere, I had the opportunity to perform in a public masterclass with Steven Isserlis at Wigmore Hall.
Coming from a musical family with a strong pedagogical tradition, I had the privilege to learn not only through my formal studies but also by observing my parents teach from an early age.
I have over seven years of teaching experience, and several of my students have successfully passed entrance exams for Italian conservatories (higher education) and won prizes in national youth competitions.

Il mio approccio si basa sulla formazione di un forte senso musicale e su una metodologia chiara e articolata, volta a fornire una preparazione tecnica completa.
Tra le mie passioni vi sono la pedagogia e la psicologia, discipline che studio e approfondisco costantemente per diventare una figura il più completa possibile, in grado di aiutare bambini, ragazzi e adulti nel loro percorso di apprendimento musicale.

Durante la mia attività di insegnante, spesso mi tornano in mente concetti e insegnamenti appresi dai miei mentori durante gli anni di studio. Mi tengo costantemente aggiornata, anche al di fuori dell’insegnamento strumentale, per offrire agli allievi un approccio consapevole del contesto storico e teorico di ogni composizione su cui lavoriamo.

Ho conseguito il Bachelor presso l’HMTMH di Hannover (con il massimo dei voti, 1.0 tedesco / 6.0 svizzero) e sto attualmente completando il Master Specialistico in Music Performance e il Master Specialistico in Musica da Camera presso la Musik Akademie Basel.

My name is Clara and I'm a cellist, teacher, and performer in Basel. I'm active in many different genres myself, which is why I can teach a wide variety of things on the cello :) It's important to me to create a learning atmosphere where both student and teacher feel comfortable. Student and teacher should meet as equals, as learning is most effective in a trusting environment.

Where do I come from musically?

It has always been important to me to explore all the possibilities my instrument offers. And to be honest, I'm not finished yet; the cello has so many facets to discover! I've already tried many different styles. I completed my Master's degree in Contemporary Music at the Basel Academy of Music in 2025. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Artistic Pedagogy in Freiburg. This gives me a solid foundation for teaching the instrument in a playful way and for unlocking the creativity of my students.

Can you also find me on stage?

Yes, mostly with my jazzy indie-pop band "Partiprivati". We write our own songs and I'm usually responsible for a good bassline :)

But also with Percaso String Quartet, with whom we only play string quartet works by women.

Or in Ensemble IPSO, a music theater project in which we try to blend the boundaries between music, theater and dance.

And always with solo performances at vernissages.
