About Me

Hi. I am Thalia. I am half Greek and half Spanish and have lived in Greece, Athens, almost all my life.
I like getting to know people, sharing about our passions, disagreeing and finding what it is that connects us and getting to know our selves together.
I like languages, because they are fun, like a game. They are also a challenge, an invitation to take risks. And they open your mind. You have to leave behind your comfortable structures, the way you have always thought a language is, and embrace something different, not always understanding it.
My mother is from the Canary Islands and my father from the Greek island Ios, so I have a big bond with the sea.
I love music, listening to it, dancing it and lately trying to play the guitar as well and singing badly :)
My philosophy as a teacher is for you to achieve your goal in the foreign language in a way that is interesting and enjoyable to you. So you will guide me towards what it is that you like and I will make sure that you end up learning Greek or Spanish while doing that. I like listening, so I will invite you to speak a lot. I like grammar too, but won’t force it on you if you are not a big fun.

I have a degree in Spanish Literature and Acting and I am just finished my studies in Body Psychotherapy.
I have also taken courses on translation, acting, educational theater, dancing and more.
