Would you like to learn to play the piano, rather take 1 on 1 private lessons or go to a music school? I graduated from Studio Herman Teirlinck (Master Kleinkunst), and then studied piano at the Antwerp Jazz Studio. I also attended workshops with Jef Neve, Kenny Werner, Bram Vermeulen, Amina Figarova, among others... In addition to fifteen years of private piano lessons (children & adults), I supervise songwriting workshops for adults & young people (Summer Academy, Zennetour finalists...) and gave I have been teaching piano for many years at the youth music school of the Halewijnstichting (Berchem).
My friends think I'm a creative jack-of-all-trades. I like to do many things: making music, writing songs, making theater, composing music & soundscapes for theater, playing piano in different bands, writing, drawing, illustrating, singing... Many styles also appeal to me in the field of music: Classical, jazz, chansons, pop, ...

Welcome to my piano teaching studio! I am a professional pianist offering private piano and theory lessons for students of all levels. As a pianist with over 14 years of teaching experience in Europe and the USA, as well as over 23 years of playing/performing, I enjoy motivating my students with music of their own preferred style and interest, whether that be classical or contemporary. My main goal is to promote a positive experience and love for music-making during the learning process. If the student is interested in a more structured approach, I guide preparation for grades 1-8 of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) piano and music theory exams where my students consistently receive highest marks. I also have successful experience preparing students for conservatory entrance auditions, masterclasses, and competitions in the Europe, the USA, India, and Canada. We have class concerts at Pianos Maene for interested students twice per year. I am happy to provide either a more relaxed or a serious approach to learning piano, we simply need to discuss the personal goals and preferences of each student.

My own studies are as follows: I have obtained two postgraduate performance degrees at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp: "Concertsoloist" in Piano Performance and "Chamber Music” (under the guidance of esteemed professor Sergei Edelmann). Prior to this, I received my Bachelor and Masters degrees in Piano Performance/Music from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis (with Prof. Lydia Artymiw) and Texas Christian University, Fort Worth (with Dr. Tamas Ungar). My experience includes collaboration with many different instrumentalists and singers, performing as a soloist and collaborative member in several orchestras, and receiving top prizes in several competitions. While maintaining my performance and recording career in Belgium at present, I am developing my private music studio in central Antwerp and look forward to meeting new students.

I am Cèlia, a Catalan cellist living in Antwerp. I studied for my bachelor's degree at the HKU Utrechts Conservatorium and my master's degree at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Antwerpen.

In this Classical Composition or Songwriting class, that's exactly what we'll be focusing on! You can choose to focus on composing classical music, using scores, or creating your own songs, either for you or other people to sing. My name is Bernardo and I am a composer from Portugal who specializes and studies contemporary classical music. I also create my own songs in a singer-songwriter style and I have made music for film and videogame.
I am currently doing a master's in Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp where I study with Wim Henderickx. I have studied in the past with composers such as Luís Tinoco, Carlos Caires and Eurico Carrapatoso.
My works have been played in several European concert halls and I have in my portfolio works for solo instruments, chamber ensembles, orchestra and choir.

I am also currently doing a bachelor's in singing at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, so if you are a singer-songwriter, we can also work on your own voice.

In piano lessons, we use the book method of Notus or Hal Leonard.
Everything is explained step by step and you gradually learn to read music and know the piano.

At the start of our lessons we'll take a look at what is important to you. What goals do you want to set, and what feels achievable and comfortable?
We set long-term goals of, for example, a year. Completely tailored to where you are at, right now.

I am a graduate of the Antwerp Conservatory of Music and have been playing the cello for 20 years. Despite my young age, since 2012, after winning many auditions, I have played in orchestral projects in 18 European countries. I regularly participated in music courses and workshops.
Currently, I work as a freelancer and am an active concert musician and private teacher.
From my own experience, I know how important it is to practise sensibly and effectively at home, which is why I am happy to help young cello students who cannot count on the help of their parents, who are musicians, in this regard.
