Do you want to learn how to compose your own music? Do you want to be able to express yourself and put your own thoughts in musical form? In this Classical Composition or Songwriting class, that's exactly what we'll be focusing on!

My name is Bernardo and I am a composer from Portugal.

You can choose to focus on composing classical music by using scores, or to create your own songs, either for you or other people to sing. You will learn music theory, learn how to use music software like reaper, ableton, sibelius or musescore, and you'll work alongside me to discover your own voice in music making.

I am currently doing a bachelor's in singing at the Royal Conservatoire of Antwerp, so if you are a singer-songwriter, we can also work on your own voice.

About Me

My name is Bernardo and I come from Lisbon, Portugal. I have both a master's and bachelor's in Composition. I started learning music and to play the piano when I was 5 years old and since then I am in love with what I do.
I want to share my enthusiasm with my students and help them achieve their goals of learning and becoming better musicians. As a teacher, I believe it is important to listen to your students and find an approach that works well with their characteristics.

I specalize in composing music for ensembles, soloists, and orchestra - with a Masters of Music Composition from the Koninklijke Conservatorum Antwerpen. My goal is to pass along knowledge and coach young musicians who wish to create their own music, either as a composer, or simply to stimulate their own performance practice.

I have a background of classical, folk, and various popular music styles including heavy metal, rock, pop, etc.

We can work through the development of your works, touching on relevant aspects of music history, and implementing them into your compositional practice.

Whether you are an absolute beginner or an advanced guitarist, together we map out your personal trajectory. Would you like to play classical pieces, learn more pop songs or improvise? That's all possible!

After my classical guitar studies at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, I started to specialize in music pedagogy with a specific focus on instrumental learning by ear and creative music making. My name is Sander. I am a guitarist and singer with Hippotrakor and L'itch, and I really want to coach/inspire people with the aim of igniting their creative fire. Our lessons will start from your vision of music, and we ask ourselves the question 'Why did you start playing? Then we will reconcile your motivation with the learning process of your instrument.

It's a bit of a different approach than with the classical music teacher, but don't let it put you off. I am trained as a remedial educationalist and teacher and also have six years of experience in the social sector. I can feel very well where your strengths lie and I am convinced that we can shape your trajectory together with those strengths.

I have only mentored one student so far, but I can proudly say that since this year he has released his first own CD, started performing, and has become a real ambient connoisseur.
