Viola/ Violin lessons with Connie, tailored, one to one private lessons
From 79.98 C$ /h
I offer private, one-to-one viola and violin lessons where I encourage technical and musical development for musicians who range from beginner to advanced levels.
I believe that each person has their own way of creating, listening, and connecting to music, and playing the viola/violin is a wonderful way of exploring it. Having started my studies on violin and moved to the viola as a teenager, I had the experience of learning how to shift my technical approach to and from each instrument so that I could feel comfortable and best express the music. I would love to help you build your love and passion for making music.
As a teacher, I tailor my lessons to the specific needs of the individual by listening attentively and giving new perspectives to help you flourish. I look at the way you use your instrument to help you refine your technical capabilities in order to become free in your expression. I also encourage using intuition in combination with the intellectual understanding of the music that you are playing.
Don't hesitate to contact me if you are interested. The first lesson will be to see if we would be a good fit and from there we can agree on a way to work together for the remaining ones. I can give lessons weekly and like to discuss when they will be at the beginning of each month.

About Me
I am a British violist working across Europe and the UK as a chamber, orchestral and solo musician. In Amsterdam, I freelance with the Radio Filharmonik Orkest, Amsterdam Sinfonietta and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra. I am also playing many concerts as the violist of the Marigold Piano Quartet, who have made many appearances on NPO radio and performed in venues such as the Concertgebouw Speigelzaal, Amstelkerk, Concertgebouw De Vereeniging and Amarte Studios. I travel to work with groups such as O Modernt Chamber Orchestra, 12 Ensemble and my own group the Seida Ensemble. I also take part in many festivals such as Yellow Barn, Zermatt Festival, Prussia Cove Open Chamber Music, Gratchten and Schiermonikoog Festival. My experiences in teaching have been with private students and groups of young musicians. I have given workshops to children in schools across London, and taught sectionals with the Essex youth orchestra in the UK.
I strongly encourage my students to take part in academies and courses, and to get as much experience playing with other musicians as possible. I support students in finding opportunities to perform, as I believe it is essential to be able to build the confidence to share music with other people. I foster an environment where learning is fun, interesting and healing.
