Hello! Ik ben Cristina, een zuid-Spaanse fluitist, in ik woon ruim 7 jaar in Amsterdam.

Gedurende deze 7 jaar, heb ik het geluk gehad om te studeren in een stad en aan een Conservatorium met een grote variateit aan mensen. Hierdoor ben ik in aanraking gekomen met een grote variateit aan muzikale stijlen; van klassiek tot hedendaags at van barok tot jazz at zelfs wereldmuziek.

Het opdragen van mijn leven aan muziek heeft me naar meerdere plekken van de wereld gebracht, en het heeft me verbonden met mensen van verschillende culturen, en achtergronden.

Doord de jaren heen ben ik een zeer flexibele, vastberaden persoon geworden. In ik ben er trots op dat ik een zeer open-minded musicus ben geworden.
Naast dit alles, heeft het me ook laten realizeren dat muziek een universele taal is, die geen gehoor geeft aan grenzen. Waardoor ik er zeker van ben dat muziek from ultieme manier is om je horizon te verbreden!

Hello! I am Maria Cristina, a south Spanish flutist living in Amsterdam for more than 7 years.

During this time, I have been lucky to study in a city and in a conservatory where I have met a broad variety of people, and where I have learned a huge variety of musical styles, from classical music to contemporary, baroque, jazz and even world music. Inevitably, this has changed me as a musician and as a person.

Dedicating my life to music has brought me to different parts of the world and has helped me connect with people from different cultures, social classes and backgrounds.

Over the years I have become extremely flexible, determined, and persistent as a person, and I feel very proud of being an open-minded musician.

In addition, this has made me realized that music is a universal language that does not understand of frontiers, so I think playing an instrument can be the perfect way to expand your horizons!

With music, we learn much more than just playing pieces. I always thought about how the ancient Greeks introduced Music as an essential subject in school. Music was to heal, to entertain, to get to know yourself more.
I'm just finished my studies in the University of Arts of Codarts (Rotterdam) and I can't deny I will always keep learning after finishing my degree. I'm looking forward to sharing some knowledge and to hear what you already know.

What can i offer?
Styles that we can work on: Classical, Folk, Jazz, Pop music.
Languages that we can speak in the lesson: Dutch, English, Catalan or/and Spanish
Skills that we can work on: basic techniques, jazz and folk techniques, play the cello while singing, percussion on the cello.

How do I work?
Each class will be individually prepared, in order to have the student goals in mind. In our first lesson we can get to know each other and then we will figure out what do you want and how can I help you.
For BEGINNERS I teach the bow, finger positions and other basics with easy songs (with kids I add games to make it more entreating). Such as relating painting with playing, dancing with playing or literature with playing.
For AVERAGE LEVEL we explore, with already some technique, how to play songs, finding a good sound and feel at ease with the instrument.

Extra activities:
Once a month I plan a rehearsal with pianist to work on some repertoire of cello and piano. Meetings with other students are also arranged to play duos together. It's very necessary to play with people and not get stuck in our own individual studies!

I'm a 24 years old Portuguese violist currently living in Amsterdam.
I have studied at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with Nobuko Imai and Francien Schatborn for 6 years from 2014 till 2020.
As a freelancer I work with numerous orchestras such as: Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra and Netherlands Chamber Orchestra, Radio Filharmonisch Orkest and Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra. I'm also an active chamber music player, amongst others as a member of the Rotterdam Chamber Music Society.

In addition to my private teaching experience, I have also done a teaching internship at the Muziekschool in Amstelveen during my studies, which gave me a lot of experience working with all levels of playing.

I have 23 years of experience playing the saxophone and around 15 years of teaching experience, working with both children and adults, beginners, and more experienced players.
