About Me
F. Murat was born in 1980 in Ankara, Turkey. He started playing electric bass at the age of 17. He played with lots of bands and popular artists in Turkey.
In 2006 he came to Amsterdam to study Jazz Bass in Conservatorium van Amsterdam. There he studied electric bass with Charlie Angenois, Jan Hollestelle, Lene te Voortwis, Theo de Jong and David de Marez Oyens. In 2006 he had private lessons with Kai Eckhardt. He participated workshops and master-classes with Ney Conceicao, Dominique di Piazza, Lorenzo Feliciati, and Gary Willis, Tim LaFevbre, Reggie Washington and Matthew Garrison.
In 2010, he graduated from Conservatorium van Amsterdam and got accepted to the Master Programme again in CvA. In March 2012, he has presented his master research on “Karna-Turk Music” in 9th Annual Research Symposium. He finished his master studies in June 2012.
He is an active bass player, composer, arranger and teacher, who lives and works in Amsterdam.
