About Me

I am Yulia, and I am a professional violinist with big experience in teaching and performing in different kinds of ensembles and orchestras. I received my degrees at Kazan State Conservatory in Russia and at Utrecht Conservatory.
My methods vary according to the needs of the students. I can help you with the classical violin repertoire, but also with other music you would like to play - favorite songs, orchestra or chamber music scores.

I started taking violin lessons at the age of 7. After years of training, I am currently continuing my violin studies at Utrecht Conservatory. I have also attended music theory classes for 6 years because it is very useful to have some knowledge of it when playing any instrument. I'm a 32-year old guitarist and composer based in Den Haag, teaching electric and acoustic guitar, in combination with music theory (if that is of interest to the student). I teach in English or in Greek. I am half Greek and half Scottish and I have been living in the Netherlands for the last 6 years.

I offer lessons in all styles, to all age groups, and for any experience level (ranging from students who have never touched a guitar before, up to advanced players who are looking for new challenges).

Face to face lessons are preferable, but I also teach online.

My Credentials:
I hold a Bachelors of Music degree from Birmingham Conservatoire (UK), and a Masters of Music from The Hague Royal Conservatory. My experience as a guitarist ranges from classical guitar studies, to playing electric guitar in rock bands, as well as experience as an improviser, performer of notated contemporary classical compositions, creator and performer of ambient and electronic music. I also am very experienced in ambient and electronic-influenced guitar music, which has given me an in depth knowledge also of the guitar in combination with technology such as guitar effects, computer software and multichannel setups which expand the audio palette of the guitar. I have written songs, I have written orchestra pieces, I have worked as a DIY home producer, I have released albums, and I've performed in concert halls, rock venues, squats and festivals. I even some experience in beat-making.

My music has been performed in and has taken me to several countries, including Portugal, The Czech Republic, The U.S.A., Canada, Korea, Greece, The U.K., The Netherlands.

My Teaching style:
My emphasis is to teach you based on your interests and your needs. The lessons are based around each individual student. You bring me the music you like and the things you want to learn, and I build my lessons around that.
I've taught students everything from post-rock, to metal, to K-Pop to Nepalese songs... This way the student gets to explore music on their terms, and not based on a pre-decided set of songs or exercises. Alongside this I bring exercises and other songs that help build around the skills we learn through your songs, and help you develop the techniques needed for you to learn to play the music you love. Whatever music excites you I encourage you to bring it to our lesson, as this also gives me a chance to discover some new music !

What's more, depending on your interest, we can also explore music theory, ideas on composition and songwriting, even the basics of how to record your own songs at home.

For experienced players:
If you are an experienced player looking for new challenges and new perspectives, my wide ranging knowledge of music in a large spectrum of music will help you push your playing and knowledge of music into new worlds !

There are two grand pianos at the location in Den Haag.

For children, it is important to develop basic musical skills through Singing, Rythmique, and Ear training besides piano playing. I use one technical exercise book, the main textbook, and a theory book. Through these 3 books, students learn different aspects of music and they naturally get ready for exams and grades.

After acquiring basic skills, students study Harmony and Chord exercises too. These are useful for playing pops and jazz, and they obtain a deeper understanding of classical pieces too.

Private Piano lesson, from age 4 and above. Children can start the lesson after being able to read the numbers from 1 to 5 and the alphabet from A to G.

Advanced students who want to prepare for competitions, auditions, ABRSM, GCSE, IB exams, or the entrance exam of the conservatory.

The concert is held annually together with students of flute, violin, and composition teachers.

For the ages 1-7 years, I have group Rhythmique lessons.

Hi there! My name is Norica. I am a pianist and a piano teacher from Tokyo.

Just quickly to the point: My approach is holistic and systematic. It uses lots of fun exercises and nice educational materials from Japan in addition to the Internationally recognized standard books. (Don't worry, you don't have to understand Japanese!) You learn not only how to play piano but also how music works- music theory.

I know what my students are good at and not so good at right off the bat. That's why I can tailor the lesson plans to their goals and needs.

Also, if you like to take an ABRSM exam, the syllables will be tailored accordingly. So what will be tested on the day of the exam is integrated into the lessons and my class/lesson offers all-round preparation for the exam. I have helped my students pass G1, 3, 5 and 6 with a good score.

Another important aspect of my lesson is to focus on improving cognitive skills - increasing memory, right-hand-left-hand-coordination, sustained attention, nonverbal communication, and a feeling of independence and freedom.

I do so with unique materials from Japan and fun training.

Currently students from 4 to 76 years old are taking my lessons. As an educator, I am committed to the process of learning while making lessons enjoyable and constructive.

I am a professional freelancer violinist, based in The Netherlands, passionate in my job as a teacher and as a performer. In terms of education, I have the Degree in Classical Violin and three masters in violin playing, from Katarina Gurska (Madrid, Spain), Prince Claus Conservatory (Groningen, Netherlands) and The Hague Royal Conservatory (The Hague, Netherlands), Throughout my whole education I have always chosen teaching electives and internships.

String instruments are often associated with written classical music and, because of their technical complexity, many players rarely dare to move beyond the safety of the score. But improvisation is not a mysterious talent we are born with. It requires as much discipline as freedom and develops through a specific set of skills that can be understood, practiced, and ultimately transformed into performance.

After more than ten years of teaching improvisation to professional string players at conservatory level, I have developed an approach that rethinks fingerboard visualization and the relationship between the ear, the hand, and the instrument, making improvisation more accessible to string players from all backgrounds.

In these lessons, I will help you understand the logic of the fingerboard, transpose effortlessly in any key, and visualize the shapes of any chord, expanding its harmonic possibilities for accompaniment. I will also show you how to create effective grooves through chops and percussive techniques, while developing a melodic language that goes beyond scales and patterns. We will explore styles including Jazz, Blues, Fusion, Pop, Rock, Brazilian, and World Music. (According to the style, we can also work with loops and effects.)

This class is intended for musicians with a solid technical command of their instrument who want to develop their improvisation skills, whether they are taking their first steps in improvised music or already have previous experience.
