About Me
Filippo was born in Verbania, Italy, on May 13, 1990. In 1997, therefore very young, he began studying percussion instruments and graduated on October 11, 2013, at the Novara Conservatory.

He broadens his musical competence by also studying piano, organ, trombone, classical and jazz harmony, and composition.
In 2013 at the Milan Conservatory he entered the composition class of Maestro Elisabetta Brusa and in June 2020 he had his Master's degree in Composition at the Brescia Conservatory with Maestro Paolo Ugoletti.
He's attending a Master's course in composition at Trinity Laban Conservatoire, London, with Professor Steven Montague.

He also graduated in 2019 in orchestral conducting at the Italian Conducting Academy in Milan.

He has worked for many years as a freelance arranger of various musical genres such as classical, jazz, pop, and folk, and with different types of ensembles, from duo to symphonic orchestra.

With regard to his personal compositional style, he enjoys and often uses jazz language, given his background as a percussionist and vibraphonist. He has also in the past developed works based on various compositional techniques such as minimalism, atonality, neo-tonality, avant-garde, dodecaphony, and concrete music. He is also intrigued by film music with its strong and persistent connection to the "traditional" tonality, which very much influences his way of writing and has so far constituted part of his activities such as CD recording and editing.

No matter where you are in your musical journey, theory is necessary to gain musical freedom. Even knowing the basics allows an aspiring musician to start creating arrangements, compose, transpose, read music better, look for different colours in harmony, and much more.

I have designed a course that will bring students through the aspects of theory, notation, harmony, structure and form to help them become more fluent in reading, composing or performing.

Two keywords form the base of the singing technique I teach: relaxation and engagement. Inspired by the Alexander technique, we need the body to be completely free from any muscle tension before and after producing a sound. Then, to create a sound of quality, the body also needs to be engaged and free. By releasing all the unnecessary tension, you will be able to sing all the arias of your dreams. I will give some weekly exercises in singing and music theory and we will correct them together during the lesson.
I was part of the choir of the French public radio broadcaster for 7 years. I have a diploma in Music theory from the CRR of Boulogne-Billancourt. I even have a degree in Pop music and I am currently finishing my Master's in musical theatre and composition.
My lessons are for all ages, all levels, and all voices. I specialised in the voice of Countertenor.

There is more to learning how to play the violin than simply getting to know the instrument. It connects you to numerous likeminded people, includes you in a wonderful community and teaches you many core values that are essential in everyday life. It is scientifically proven that music making benefits your well-being, stimulating creativity and exploring a world unto itself. The class is completely adjustable to the student’s needs, meeting one where they are and working towards mutually set goals.

After teaching at top Private and State schools in the UK, I've just expanded my teaching business with 8 new slots for online piano students.

My teaching methods have proven effective with all age groups, from ages 6 and upwards. I've also spend significant time teaching adults and those with special needs.

Lessons focus on the needs of the student individually, and can be tailored to match any goal. Most students do tend to focus on the standard ABRSM exam route. But, I've extensively taught Rock, Pop, Jazz and musical Theatre to especially interested students.

Please do reach out with any questions!

I have been teaching music and guitar for decades, privately and in music schools, and my approach starts with the student and his needs. In my experience those needs, together with goals and expectations, change with time and I can help my students determine what they want to achieve and how to best get there. I also find that there isn’t one way that works for everybody and I enjoy creating space for students to explore what music and the instrument mean for them.
Please be aware that I am a working musician and in order to support my student while I do the profession, a degree of flexibility on times and schedule might be needed

Music composition is a powerful tool for expressing inner voice and individuality, discovering new music worlds, and boosting creativity.

With a student, we will start by forming intonations and rhythms and building beautiful musical landscapes using all opportunities for any musical instrument.
