Hello! Bonjour! Hola! My name is Natalia. I teach French, Spanish, English, Ukrainan, Russian, and Portuguese! I am an enthusiastic tutor who can make learning fun and relevant. I aim to make ideas clear to the student, in order that they can use them fluidly and flexibly, and to encourage genuine understanding. I enjoy teaching and believe learning starts with the learner, adapting ideas and course content to meet their interests and needs. I have been teaching these languages for 15 years. I have a Master's degree in English language and literature, a Master's degree with honours in Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business and a Master's degree in International Law. I also earned diplomas from the Ministry of Education of France : DELF; Spanish diplomas DELE from Cervantes Institute (Madrid), German diploma from Goethe Institute and Japanese - Language Profiency diploma (Tokyo). I am experienced both with teaching children and adults for business, pleasure or exams. I prepare students for their GCSE/iGCSE, IB leading them to enter leading prep schools and universities We practise speaking, reading and writing with my students. I’m Ryan — and yes, in Portuguese it sounds like “LION,” just swap the LI for a HI. 😊 I’m a PhD language educator with over a decade of experience teaching Spanish, Portuguese, and Academic English at every level — from absolute beginners to advanced university students and professionals. I earned my Ph.D. in Latin American Literature and Culture from the University of Texas at Austin, one of the leading institutions for language pedagogy in the U.S. Since 2024, I have held a position as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. I’ve taught at major universities including the University of Michigan, University of Texas-Austin, Villanova, and Thomas Jefferson University. My experience includes everything from foundational grammar and conversation courses to advanced writing, medical Spanish, Portuguese for Spanish speakers, and culturally focused seminars on race, media, and society in the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world. Beyond the classroom, I’ve worked extensively as a professional interpreter and translator in Spanish and Portuguese, supporting migrants, asylum seekers, educators, and public institutions. I’ve also lived and worked across South America and bring real-world cultural experience into every lesson. My name is Nicolas, and I am a Brazilian Portuguese teacher with eight years of teaching experience. I have been speaking Portuguese for about ten years now. I learned the language while living in Brazil for several long periods, both for study and work. I am currently living there again. Having also gone through the process of learning to speak this language, I am well aware of the different stages my students go through. This helps a lot. My lessons are tailor-made to achieve personal goals and are adapted to the specific needs of each student. Practice is prioritized throughout the learning process in order to gain autonomy as quickly as possible. Grammar is also covered, depending on the student's level. This course is aimed at: - Beginners (basics, conversation, travel); - Intermediate/advanced learners (improvement, exam preparation); - Professionals (business Portuguese, interview preparation).
