In this course, I propose an exploration starting from the student's desires: the first session is a discovery of poetry through extracts that will serve as a basis. Writing exercises will help you dare to take the plunge: the blank page and the fear of doing it wrong are the first obstacles that we will deconstruct. By reading the student's texts aloud, the goal is to make writing a living practice, one that is shared and not practiced only in solitude.

I am a BA graduate of Classics and Literature from Athens National and Kapodistrian University and holder of an MA degree in Dramaturgy and Writing for Performance from Goldsmiths University of London. I have nearly 10 years of experience of teaching in different countries, settings and age groups as a private tutor of ancient and modern Greek in my home country and as a primary school TA and Art Teacher in the UK. At the same time, I have developped my career as a theatre freelancer in production and dramaturgy. Throughout my life I have engaged with writing, both creatively as a writer and theatre maker and as a facilitator and script reader. Creative writing is a powerful exercise in not just creating a space that has never existed before, but empathy. During classes with me we will explore with fun, creative - even analytical exercises - how to create characters, form a storyline and challenge our own boundaries. Our lessons will explore what it means to be immersed in fantasy, yet be informed with techniques that have keep us grounded to the goal; write a novel, write a story, write a short piece, devise poetry!
