Singer trained at the Schola Cantorum of Basel (from medieval chant to the 20th century), I offer a general singing course: basic vocal technique (posture, breath work, sound work), discovery of different repertoires (depending on the student's tastes; pop repertoires also possible), work on interpretation. I can accompany the student on the keyboard. I work with people of all ages, beginners or not. The goal is to progress in a climate of trust. You can also contact me for music theory lessons only (reading notes and rhythm, deciphering, notions of music theory, ear work). I finally give piano lessons to beginners. I can give the course in French or English, German and Spanish are also possible. Lessons can take place at my home or at the student's home.

I know that learning something new or make a step forward in improving something can be difficult. That is why I engage myself every day to find constantly new ways to let you learn piano easily, effectively and pleasantly. It is not just about technique, it is also about creating a favorable atmosphere for learning, where the student can feel at ease and free to express himself. Because the music IS expression. My primary focus is on creating a personal connection and approach to the chosen instruments and to music in general. This includes (depending on your wishes, of course) your own musical expression, improvisation, songwriting (with lyrics if desired), song accompaniment and improvisation, as well as music theory and instrument-specific references. Stylistically, the focus is on blues, rock, folk pop and world music, with strong references and influences from classical music, hip hop, electronic music and jazz. Course for beginners and advanced students My course focuses on the personal realtion between the individual, the chosen instruments and the music itself. This includes musical expression, improvisation, songwriting, songwriting, interpretation as well as music theory and specific aspects of the instrument. My musical background lies between blues, folk, rock, pop and world music with influences from classical, as well as electronic music, hip hop and jazz.

Piano pop, variety, jazz, improvisation, ear training, composition, or production on Ableton Live... I immediately start with practical work with my students and my aim is to enable them to develop a form of creative independence during the early lessons. I cater to all needs and my classes are for children, adults, beginners, or experienced learners. The lessons take place at my studio in Aarau. Some lessons can also be done in my recording studio in Lausanne (my upcoming recording studio will be built soon in Aarau) The benefit of giving lessons in a recording studio is the opportunity for my student to leave the lesson with a professional recording of their pieces, allowing for effective self-assessment of their work. My classes are suitable for all levels and ages. See you soon!

I offer beginners' classes in piano and harpsichord for any age, and can additionally provide the basics in music theory. A passionate learner myself, I started harpsichord at age 5 and have recently graduated with a Masters from the Hochschule für Musik Basel in Specialized Performance (Improvisation). My experience teaching started in New York where I taught school students piano and music theory. I am also a professional continuo player accompanying Baroque orchestras on the harpsichord, as well as a composer of experimental music. My experience in very different musical scenes gives me a unique approach to studying that allows me to adapt the content and structure of lessons according to where the student wants to develop their skills. This can include focus on exercises like scales and arpeggios; studying simple pieces from Classical, Baroque or even Pop repertoire; figured bass; body posture awareness; and trying more experimental things through free improvisation techniques! I've also found that accompanying practice with theory helps to deepen one's understanding and joy at learning this beautiful music. I really enjoy passing on my enthusiasm for music, whether the student has specific goals and needs or is simply curious to start with the basics. If you're curious don't hesitate to reach out :)

I’m at service of the student who want to learn with curiosity, starting from where they are. I don’t make difference between beginners and advanced students, for me it’s a personal project to help the person go through the process and enrich themselves through the practice of Music. I believe it’s much more about understanding than the mere practicing, that’s why it’s “a” Practice. One of the many ways to discover oneself and one’s attitudes, one’s relationship with emotions, coordination, cultures, history, narratives. Everyone has their main function and we will find that for you- may it be associative, geometric, dialogic.. the most important is that we create a space where learning is backed up by enthusiasm and safety- all the rest of technicalities, I deal with it:) Me teaching it’s a pure act of offering- I don’t need it but I love it. If it resonates with you, jump along. If you are already advanced, you bring your pieces for furthering (as a masterclass) or we start looking at it together, going to the bone of what it’s written and what’s alluded, where is symbols, where is metaphors. One can never stop to be in awe... and that is what I want everybody to be in when they play. With best of wishes for your Music making David Irimescu
