I teach all of the above at any level, and would be happy to discuss scheduling lessons with you. With teens and adults, I take a different approach and try to get the student to be able to play a simple song or piece after the first lesson. I also teach theory with each piece learned so that it is a natural part of the learning process. It’s very important for me that my students enjoy every lesson and have a bit of fun while they learn. If this sounds like a good fit, I look forward to hearing from you! I have been immersed in music, and particularly the piano, for over 40 years. I was trained by concert professors, who were themselves trained by the greatest (my own professor's piano teacher was taught by Alfred Cortot). I learned music theory at the Conservatoire and harmony and counterpoint at the HEM in Geneva. At the same time, I have a Bachelor's degree in Musicology from the Université des Lettres de Genève. This allows me not only to teach the essential basics of music to students, but also to place each style and each composer in its historical context. This greatly facilitates learning. I teach all types of music, from classical to modern pop, including film music and more recent composers like Ludovico Einaudi.
