Hi, I'm Billy, a guitarist from South East London who has been performing live since I was eighteen. I was trained at the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance and have over five years of private teaching experience. Having begun as a self-taught musician, I believe it is fundamental for students to first find their passion, as this will provide the necessary motivation to advance. Whether you've just got your first guitar, or you wish to build upon your existing skills and advance your playing - I will make sure to tailor my lessons to you.

I have 13 years' experience teaching music theory and composition. I'm a pianist and composer, with a thorough understanding of all instruments. I can cater the lessons uniquely to your level and needs, whether you're an absolute beginner or you're an experienced musician looking to deepen your knowledge of music theory. I cover all sorts of styles, including Classical, Jazz and Pop/Rock. My lessons are friendly and encouraging, using audio examples and helpful diagrams. My students feel better equipped to play music and reach their goals as a result.

As a teenager I loved rock and metal and spent hours and hours practicing to become better and play those cool guitar solo's. When I turned 17 I really started to like classical Spanish music, playing the likes of Francisco Tárrega and Antonio de Lucena. For the past few years I have focused more on guitarists like John Mayer, Eric Clapton, Jason Mraz and other more mainstream western-style artists. With 14 years of experience playing solo and in a band, and 6 years of teaching experience at high schools and universities, I am convinced I can teach you a thing or two about the 6-string ;). I had a passion for music since I was 10 years old, and to this day it is still one of the main hobbies for me which takes most of my free time. I believe in the power of singing to not only express yourself but to send a powerful and universal message where words are not enough. For me singing has been a highly enjoyable experience and if it weren't for my music teachers and academic tutors inspiring me to undertake as many music opportunities as possible I would not be where I am today, and as a tutor I want to give back and invoke that same passion.
