Trusted teacher: Hello Flutist!! How are you doing during these pandemic times? Hope you are well and safe!! I am Marcio. Welcome to my Apprentus profile! First of all, I am a specialized and fully dedicated Online Teacher. I have been teaching online since the very beginning of the covid pandemic. Since then, I have developed a lot of my way of working. All my lessons are run on Skype which works amazingly well for both video and audio. Also, to enrich the quality of the audio from my students, I very often use a pair of professional headphones which give me amazing high definition sound and articulation of the student. I also work on my iPad with the Apple Pencil and using the share screen resource I can demonstrate and draw on music sheets and methods that I am working with the student at that moment. I simply love it and most of the time it really feels much better than a lesson in person due to all these technological possibilities. My students and I have a lot of fun, you can count on that! I also have a number of Pricing Plans for weekly lessons that will lower the cost of the lesson considerably! My METHODOLOGY I use a methodology that I have developed over the years of practicing and teaching both my students and myself. It’s called: PRIORITY FOCUS. PRIORITY FOCUS basically is a non-multi tasking way of learning a musical instrument allowing time and space for us to learn and fully conquer one ability at a time. We start at the very basic aspects of posture, fingering, and embouchure, and climb our way up to the most detailed techniques and musical expressions. One Flute-playing ability at the time. This methodology is constructed on what I consider to be the two main subjects in Music learning and playing, what I call THE PILLARS OF MUSIC: MUSICALITY AND INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUE Both intermix and coexist in a single dimension, but in terms of studying and progressing, I find that separating them is essential to accelerate and solidify my students’ learning and my own. MUSICALITY encompasses aspects such as musical phrases, vibrato, dynamics, tone colors, improvisations, music theory, harmony, and style: CLASSICAL, JAZZ, FUNK, POP, SAMBA, and BOSSA-NOVA, all of which I have KNOWLEDGE and EXPERIENCE. In INSTRUMENTAL TECHNIQUE, in our case, FLUTE TECHNIQUE, we have elements such as posture, embouchure, fingerings, breathing, articulation, tonguing, and music reading. To work on these aspects with my students I use several distinctive Flute Methods, from the most TRADITIONAL to the most MODERN ones, as well as INNUMEORUS EXERCICES that I have specifically developed for Flute technical improvements from years of experience as a Flutist, Student, and Teacher. I also use many teachings from distinct areas such as Yoga for FOCUS and RELAXATION, Alexander technique for Posture and BALANCE, and Philosophical spiritual schools for MOTIVATION. Let’s also not forget the intense work that’s is done on the REPERTOIRE OF THE STUDENT’S TASTE. I provide all materials from my vast library completely TO MY STUDENTS. I confess that there is nothing in the world, besides being with my wife and daughter, that I love more than playing and teaching about Music and the Flute. I am an extremely PATIENT, ENTHUSIASTIC, DEDICATED, AND CARING TEACHER. MOTIVATION is the key and I GUARANTEE that you’ll leave motivated after each lesson.

Trusted teacher: Myself: I have 23 years of experience playing the saxophone and around 15 years of teaching experience, working with both children and adults, beginners, and more experienced players. I believe that, in addition to teaching, it is essential to remain an active and performing musician to ensure that the approach remains fresh and relevant, which I am. I specialise in jazz improvisation, but these skills are transferable to any style you may wish to learn. The primary goal is to become proficient on the saxophone with a strong and beautiful sound, while also mastering the fundamentals. Furthermore, learning music is a joyous and enriching experience, and I am here to help facilitate that. I am also a graduate of the Conservatorium Van Amsterdam as well as Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance (London). The Lessons: Whether you're a total beginner, looking to refresh your skills, or aiming to progress further, I'm here to help you at every step of your saxophone journey. With experience teaching students of all ages and abilities, my main goal is to ensure that every lesson is enjoyable and tailored to your specific goals and motivations. Specialising in improvisation, I also offer instruction in harmony, music theory, and composition. Overall, my goal is to help you produce a beautiful and personal sound on the saxophone. I take pride in adapting my teaching approach to suit your learning style, ensuring that all information is manageable and understandable at your own pace. I am fully committed to ensuring that the space is welcoming and friendly, as well as being approachable for any thoughts or feelings you may have about the lessons and your progress. Lessons are held at my home in Amsterdam Oost and can be scheduled for 45 minutes, 1 hour, or 1.5 hours. Ideally, we meet weekly or fortnightly to maintain momentum, but I'm also available for occasional top-up lessons.

Trusted teacher: Hello! Alright, I'll break it down into parts. If you look for a more "narrowed description" just scroll down to where I made a list :) My name is Francisco, and I'm a guitar player from Argentina, currently living in Berlin. I am very enthusiastic about teaching and sharing the energy to grow musically with my students. I have taught music for 7 years in schools and privately at home. With private lessons, my aim is to adjust to the student's likes and abilities. I am attentive to the needs and the reasons why someone is wanting to play and learn music. And I try to encourage the curiosity and spirit of making music and not follow what is "considered" that you should learn. What to expect from the first lesson with me? To get to know each other. That way I see what you like and what you don't, what you already play, and your learning pace. Probably I can share with you something new already, and from there, we will build a "program" according to what you want your rhythm and time availability. I value singularity and I like to get to know who I teach, so that way I can help them better. It can be first chords and ways of learning new songs, improvisational tools, or pure harmony and theory stuff. Because everyone is different, for example, if you like Rock I will go in that direction and teach you the elements that make Rock sound like it does and I won't teach you Jazz Harmony, if you like Classical music we will go over the abilities that you have to have to execute this kind of music, the same goes for the styles that I play. My skills: I play and have played mainly Fingerstyle Guitar, Jazz, Argentine Tango, Jazz Manouche, Rock, Rockabilly, and Experimental. I have worked a lot playing Bossa Nova at some point. I don't like teaching something that I don't know. So for example, oriental music I couldn't teach. And if we come to a point where I am not helpful anymore, I will say so. What I do like is learning with students, it is often the case that your students teach you new ways of thinking about music and I find that super exciting! I was lucky to travel a bit of the world playing music with different projects and musicians that I admire, I always did this playing mainly Jazz music. I have played in bars and clubs and theaters in New York, Boston, Buenos Aires, and in different cities around Switzerland, Germany, France, Holland. I was also part of several orchestras (Jazz, Tango, and Rock) in Argentina and the US. I teach beginner - intermediate - advanced levels of different topics: - how to improve technique (right hand and left hand) - how to improvise (elements of improvisation, vocabulary, phrasing, etc.) - how to visualize the fretboard - how to learn songs by ear, and how to read music (or tab) - how harmony and music theory work - specific genres such as Jazz, Gypsy Jazz, Bossa Nova, Tango, Rock, and Fingerstyle. The lessons can be also in German (basic, so you might need a bit of patience with me!), Spanish (that's my mother tongue), or English. They can be at my place (Wedding), all corona safe, or online via Zoom/Skype. Shoot me a message if you are interested! All the best, Francisco

Trusted teacher: What is the lesson content? -Amateur level: In this level, piano is played as a hobby. The repertoire is prepared together in line with the student's wishes and level. No specific piano book is required. Students are encouraged to compose their own music if they wish. In this way, they acquire the ability to write music on a lined notation paper. Sight reading practices, solfeggio training, basic music theory and terminology studies, discussions of music history are included lessons. -Professional level: This level generally includes preparing for piano competitions, the examinations and the certificate/diploma programs of music-oriented education institutions such as London College of Music, Royal Academy of Music, various of conservatories and music schools. The lessons mostly cover the playing of the pieces in the specific repertoire list determined by these music institutions. Ear training lessons are given for admission exams of instrument departments which aim to measure the 'musical ear'. This level is more focused on Western Classical Music. It includes harmony education and reviews of musicological articles. How long is the lesson? Lesson durations are adapted to age groups specifically by considering physical and mental developmental processes. *Durations can be rearranged according to the student's concentration regardless of age. Where is the lesson? The lessons are held either at the teacher's house in Kåbo or on Zoom with students who already have a piano background. *In exceptional and mandatory cases, some lessons can also be held at the student's house, if there is a piano. When is the lesson? A fixed day and time is determined jointly according to the weekly schedules of the student and the teacher. Which language are the lessons taught in? The lessons are given in English.

Trusted teacher: Do you want to understand what is happening in music you hear or play? Do you want to improve your musical ear? Do you want to know more about important music composers? Then join my music course! We can start completely from beginning or adjust our lessons depending on your current knowledge. Usually, to get basic overview of music theory, students should go through all major and minor scales, to understand the system behind, to be able to write them down and to sing or play them on their instrument. Then, we can easily learn intervals, build chords and later explore other modes and methods of music analysis. Eventually, for the most devoted students, four-voice harmony arranging and counterpoint writing opens up. Our study time should be dedicated to music history as well. Theory of harmony was developing together as composition styles were changing over our history. That's why it's useful to be able to distinguish between major music styles, to hear the differences and to categorise world-wide known composers. Finally, we will also find time for solfeggio and ear training. Musicians use their hearing as an important tool for their musical activities. After scales, intervals and chords are saved in one's memory, ears become a good helper they can always rely on. While practicing a music instrument or singing, musicality is naturally developing. Then, the basic cadence sounds familiar, something many times heard. However, without theoretical knowledge, we cannot give it a name. We know it, but we don't know what it is and what other variants it has. After thorough study and practice of sounds and frequencies recognition, student can recognise any given resonance. Solfeggio training helps to develop rhythmicality, intonation, overall musicality and it's fun.

I enjoy our lessons with Guido - he is a knowledgeable musician and a great teacher. He strikes a perfect balance between the student's comfort zone and the steps toward future growth, allowing you to learn slightly beyond it while still feeling ‘safe’. Appreciate his attention to various small details and the different examples he provides when a musical concept is difficult to understand. These are things that are hard to grasp and then fix on your own, and that’s the true beauty of in-person lessons. I wholeheartedly recommend him 🤌
