Hello! I am a current Postgraduate student at the Royal Northern College of Music and I have a passion for teaching the violin and music theory. I have a BA (hons) in Music from the University of York and have over 4 years of teaching experience. I am open to teaching beginners or advanced students, and am happy to teach traditional ABRSM grades, or a more personalised approach if you want to learn for fun!

I also have a special focus on getting my students confident with learning how to play by ear. I am first and foremost a pianist. I am classically trained but specialised in Jazz at conservatoire level. I also completed a second study in singing during this time. I currently work for my local music service, and have a specialty as a multi-instrumentalist, teaching beginner violin, flute, recorder and trombone. I have also worked for many years as a lecturer and one-on-one teacher for a young performers conservatoire. I also work as a session musician and accompanist, regularly playing all genres of music!

I am a Grade 7 pianist and have played piano for nearly my whole life! I have also played several other instruments. I also have my Grade 5 Music Theory. Music theory is important for any musician to further understand the instrument they are learning. It is best to start with theory as soon as you can in your music journey. In order to progress past Grade 5 you require the music theory examination. I have played and studied music most of my life and as your tutor I would love to help you gain a further understanding of music and prepare for any music theory exams you may want to sit.

Cathy started her music teaching career in 2015, and has been teaching students from beginner to grade 8, aged from 6 to 35 years old. She always welcomes students who wish to explore more about music, building up playing the flute as their hobby, as well as growing together with them as their role models. She feels very glad and blessed to be the teacher of her students, as well as being their sister, witnessing their growth and becoming a good friend to them. In the lesson, she would always love to play studies, and exercise, as well as play flute pieces and duets together with the students. To broaden their horizons, she would love to share different music recordings, as well as discuss the music together during the lesson. Cathy believes that it is essential for students to step out of the classroom to learn music, rather than just playing the flute. During years of teaching, she has encountered students taking different examination grades. Cathy understands the importance of choosing the pieces for students, she would love to demonstrate pieces and discuss the preferences with the students together. As the mode of having examinations has varied these years, she has already adapted to preparing students for the exams under different situations. Josh has been teaching Guitar and Music Theory for 2 years to a range of different ages and abilities. By creating individually tailored lessons for each student, Josh focusses on personal interests and goals in order to keep sessions interesting and fun. Nathan has been playing Guitar and studying Music for over 15 years, from Primary School right through to the current day in University. Hello, I am a Piano Tutor in Bangor, North Wales. I have been teaching people of all ages for over 10 years. I am also a fully qualified school teacher, having experience in teaching Music, Maths, Welsh Baccalaureate, and Chemistry at the Secondary Level and the full National Curriculum at Primary Level. Due to the current issues with the Covid-19, I have decided to set up online teaching and support. I am offering the chance for pupils to continue Piano/Music theory lessons via Skype as well as one to one tutoring in National Curriculum subjects.
