FR / NL / EN FR: Each student has their own goals, tastes, and learning style. Therefore, I tailor the course to each student's level and expectations. For a beginner, we gradually work on posture, technique, reading and the first notions of music theory while quickly playing pieces. For a more advanced student, the work may be more oriented towards interpretation, technique, musical analysis, accompaniment or preparation for an exam or audition. Music theory is naturally integrated into the piano course so that it can be used directly for musical practice: reading a score, understanding the rhythm, the tones, the chords and the structure of a piece. I also offer personalized support for preparing for conservatory entrance exams. NL: Elke leerling heeft zijn de haar eigen doelstellingen, muzikale voorkeuren en manier van leren. Daarom stem ik elke les af op het level en de verwachtingen van de leerling. For beginners we work with you on a sound track, techniques, notes and the basis of music theory, we know that this is the music you play. You can also focus on interpretation, technology, music analysis, piano performance and audit examination. Music theory is a natural way to handle piano music, there are two strings that tend to be used in music practices: light scores, rhythms can be played, toonaarden in akkoorden are included in the structure of the music. I also have people who are interested in your teaching exams at the conservatory. IN : Each student has their own goals, musical preferences, and way of learning. I therefore tailor each lesson to their level and individual expectations. For beginners, we progressively work on posture, technique, reading music, and the basics of music theory, while quickly learning and playing actual pieces. For more advanced students, the lessons can focus more on interpretation, technique, musical analysis, accompaniment, or preparation for an exam or audition. Music theory is naturally integrated into the piano lessons so that it directly supports musical practice: reading a score, understanding rhythm, keys, chords, and the structure of a piece. I also offer personalized guidance for preparing entrance examinations for conservatories.

Saxophone lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced musiciansTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Saxophone lessons for beginners, intermediate and advanced musiciansTranslate this text using Google Translate.

Are you a beginner?? No worries: no experience is required! 😁 I can teach you the basics to produce sounds with your saxophone: position of the embouchure (teeth, tongue, lips and vocal cords' position, an element often forgotten), fingerings, use of diafragma,... After the first two lessons spent on the mouthpiece and neck for the sound production, we will immediately start to play some super easy duos together to practice your capacity of listening, pay attention to the other, ear training as well. I normally use the book of Peter Wastall (titled Learn as you play) as support, but it is not mandatory. There are plenty of good books btw! Are you an intermediate / advanced student?? I am sure you can still improve in all the basics, but on a different level. I'll teach you the importance of the "voicing" (technique named by the american saxophonist and pedagogue Donald Sinta) to improve your sound production and projection as well as the capacity of correcting and improving the intonation. You can learn all about phrasing and music interpretation, from tonal music until contemporary atonal compositions. And still, you can improve your playing together, practicing in duo on different aspects like tuning, balance, interpretation, performance etc. Book a lesson and try! If you are not happy, give me a feedback and go on. If you are happy, I will be happy to help you becoming a good musician!

I suggest you improve your saxophone and music practice by focusing on learning melody by ear and developing improvisation. As for instrumental technique, I can teach you how to place your fingers properly to develop your virtuosity, to have a tonic air column and a good embouchure to develop your sound and to work on articulation to improve your phrasing. All this is acquired little by little by playing specific exercises and solos, pieces or saxophone studies. Through learning the instrument I also suggest you develop your musical qualities which are essential to progress and have fun playing. By learning and memorizing melodies or solos by ear, you develop your ear, your sense of rhythm and your memory. Free improvisation allows you to develop your inner singing and your musical personality. Finally, working with a metronome or directly on recordings will help you improve your rhythmic ear. All this is aimed at allowing the greatest possible freedom with one's instrument as well as the development of a personal aesthetic. I started learning the saxophone at the conservatory 7 years ago. I started with jazz then curiosity pushed me to study classical saxophone for 3 years before specializing in tenor and jazz. I had many saxophone teachers (Eric Barret, Pascal Gaubert, Sylvain Rifflet, Sylvain Cathala...) and today I have a bachelor's degree at the Royal Conservatory with Fabrice Alleman and Manu Hermia. I have played the saxophone in many different contexts, often in jazz in small groups or in a Big Band, in classical solo or in a quartet and also with pop groups on stage or in the studio. I have always loved passing on what I have learned, so I have been teaching beginners/amateurs for 4 years, always with the aim of developing the pleasure of playing and regularity of practice.

Emidio is a fantastic saxophone teacher. He provides you with the feedback you need to learn many things at the same time: He gives you tips for a good embouchure and shows you how to blow a proper tone. He teaches you how to play in tune and introduces you to tone articulation on the saxophone, when you are ready for it. He guides your own practice efficiently, so you can be certain to not loose time. In addition, you learn to read notes and a lot about music in general. Emidio is a kind, patient, supportive and encouraging saxophone teacher, who is ready to reply to whatever question you throw at him. Emidio communicates well and is clear. His classes are fun, inspiring and intense. I will continue my musical journey with Emidio.I highly recommend Emidio as a saxophone teacher. With Emidio, you can be certain that you learn to play the saxophone in the best possible way.

Giorgos has continually shown in every class I've taken with him to have a very good rapport with students and great teaching competence, showing the ability to explain topics, questions and mistakes in a way that the student understands and learns from. He's supportive of the level of knowledge, goals and the different musical tastes of students, allowing the diversification of the topics and repertoire studied in class, thus creating an excellent learning environment. In short simply 10/10. Excellent professor! Definitely recommend him to those who want to learn or/and better their skills at the instrument.

My first lesson with Carlos was great! Not only is he a skilled clarinetist, but he has a very hands-on approach to teaching that is especially helpful for those just beginning or starting up again after a long break. Though I remembered very little of the clarinet before our first lesson, he immediately made me comfortable getting back into the swing of things and gave me many helpful pointers to regain my bearings. I look forward to continuing my lessons with him. Thanks Carlos!
