I tutor Mathematics at GCSE, A-level, BSc and MSc level. A bit about me and why I would love to be your tutor in mathematics! I am currently pursuing my PhD in Artificial Intelligence at University College London, where my research focuses on applying AI to enhance energy efficiency in the built environment. Prior to my doctoral studies, I earned a First Class Honours degree in Mathematics from Warwick University. I also completed an MSc in Statistics and an MSc in Applied Biotechnology and Biosciences, both from Imperial College London, with Merit. My other academic achievements include A* A* A grades in Further Mathematics, Mathematics, and Biology A-Levels, along with 12 A* grades at GCSE in various subjects, including FSMQ Mathematics, and OCR Additional Mathematics. I also achieved a Merit in Advanced Extension Award Mathematics (AEA). In terms of tutoring, I have some experience tutoring GCSE Sciences and Mathematics, as well as A-level Biology and A-level Mathematics. Currently, I am in the process of becoming a Postgraduate teaching assistant at UCL. As part of this training, I actively teach several lectures and workshops each week in mathematics and computer science at MSc and BSc levels. Additionally, I offer career coaching for individuals seeking finance-related internships and preparing for interviews.

GCSE/A-Level Science & Maths Tutoring - Oxford Chemistry Graduate - 32 p/hTranslate this text using Google Translate.

I am Jordan, a recent University of Oxford graduate; having graduated in July 2022 with an MChem Chemistry (1st Class Honours). My research, conducted in the final year of my degree, was centred around using spectroscopic techniques to study transient intermediates formed during enzyme catalysis and my work was included as part of a paper published in the Journal of Biological Chemistry! I am now working in Finance, having declined an offer to complete a DPhil in Organic Chemistry at the University. Outside of work, I am often playing football or learning Spanish! Having tutored so many different students I understand that everyone learns in their own way, which is why I am so flexible with my approach to teaching from student to student and sometimes, session to session. My lessons take place on an interactive whiteboard where both the student and myself can draw and annotate in real-time. The content of each lesson is discussed beforehand with the student, following this discussion I will create a lesson plan which is to act as a guide rather than a rigid structure. For those that would benefit the approach I favour employing an Oxbridge Tutorial style session, where the lesson is led by the open discussion of problems, which helps build confidence, intuition and a deeper understanding of the theory involved, rather than solely relying on memorisation.
