Hello! 🎹 I offer private piano lessons in contemporary, jazz, and pop music styles. A graduate of the DEM Jazz program at the Lyon Conservatory, I taught piano in music schools for seven years. I also have classical piano training at the conservatory, having started playing the piano at the age of five. I offer a course tailored to the student's tastes and level, but I'm mainly looking for students who already know how to play the piano a little. I don't necessarily practice music theory, or I incorporate it into the practice if necessary. Don't hesitate if you have any questions ☺️ Hope to meet you, See you soon ! Elodie

I teach instrumental practice by alternating exercises and pieces (even if you are a beginner!) and music theory if necessary (in a fun way, I promise ;) ). - Learning pieces (jazz standards, Balkan music, pieces of your choice - Learning Improvisation for beginners (on a short or modal grid) - Technical exercises and advice to have a beautiful sound and improve over the weeks - Written and oral transmission (with and without score) - Music theory (reading notes and rhythms, recognizing instruments, developing the ear...) I adapt to your level and I do it according to your knowledge of music!

I have been teaching music at the conservatory and music school for several years and regularly perform on stage in various groups. I adapt to your needs and your instrumental and theoretical level. We can work together: - The specific approach to the instrument: breathing, embouchure, sound, detached, dexterity, phrasing. - The discovery, at all levels, of improvisation: from complete beginner to advanced musician wishing to deepen their knowledge of harmony, rhythm and ear. - Learning new pieces/a new repertoire using different methods, notably auditory memory.

Professional musician, graduated from the Music Academy International with honors. Guitarist especially, bassist from time to time and drummer a little bit.. Dynamic, attentive and passionate, I experience music in all its dimensions. The guitar is an instrument that I love, that I like to make discover and share. No matter your style and your level, I will be there to facilitate its learning, thanks to my desire to transmit, to my patience, I know how to make my students progress so that they take as much pleasure in playing as me! ====== 50% off ====== My organization is approved as a Personal Service. You can benefit from -50% thanks to the tax credit! My method: For beginners, we will try to play as quickly as possible some pieces, riffs and melodies. I will introduce you to chords, different ways of accompanying, in arpeggios, in strumming, with percussions... and rhythm! For intermediates, we can refine your playing by discovering specific guitar techniques: bends, slides, back and forth, sweeping, legato, tapping, string-skipping, chicken-picking, etc. There is plenty to do! 😅 We will further install your sense of rhythm, the true foundation of solid musical expression. I have a simple and infallible method for learning scales, harmony and knowing how to use them. We will start improvisation, this exhilarating feeling of letting go giving an incredible feeling of freedom, to demystify the great masters of the guitar: Hendrix, Django, Gilmour, Knopfler, Stevie Ray, Clapton, Gallagher, Page.. and the one you like! For apprentice shredders, with my technical skills, I will analyze your playing, freeing the blocking points, explore the harmony while refining the implementation because rhythm is music! And for the die-hards there remains: modes, melodious minor, diminished system, augmented, parton, modal harmony, knowing phrasing on different styles, intervals, pairs of triads, playing in arpeggios, jazz and bop, chromatic approaches, enclosures, diatonic, tritonic substitutions, polymodality, modern pentas, changes in flow, visualization of the neck, the CAGED system, the Coltrane Change, Petrucci, Guthie Govan, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie, Greg Howe, Nuno, Tom Quayle, Martin Miller, Matteo Mancuso, Rick Graham, Meshugg, Periph... 😉 I have played a lot, on stage, in the studio, and elsewhere, I could also advise you on equipment and on creating a repertoire. Finally, I have training as a Mix-Master sound engineer, passed at the CFSM under the direction of Nicolas SAFFRAY. We can see creation and mixing techniques specific to MAO if that suits you more. If you like guitar, don't hesitate!

Would you classify improvisation as composition or performance? Well actually it is both! When you improvise you are composing music on the spot, performing what you have made up at the same time as you have composed it. For many people improvisation is a scary word and having to improvise in a group or band is an alarming prospect. However, this really does not need to be the case. As long as you have a basic knowledge of how to play your instrument you will be able to improvise. Once you know the principle of how chords are formed you will soon be improvising with ease. The key to success is understanding chords. Once you know how chords are formed and know what notes make up a few chords you will be well on your way towards being able to improvise. We will, therefore, start by ensuring a firm knowledge of certain chords. After this we will progress to improvising a simple melody over the top of these chords. The next stage is to start using notes that are not in the chord. The process is then open ended with emphasis on developing the melody. If you play a keyboard instrument you will be able to improvise your own pieces and be able to entertain your friends at a moments notice. On the other hand if you play in a band or a group you will be well equipped to do a real 'jam' session. Whether you play a single line instrument (flute, saxophone, trumpet, violin etc.) or keyboard instruments, this class is for you.

The rule is simple: don't be afraid to make a fool of yourself! Students are encouraged to try, fail, and overall be proactive in learning new information in bite-sized chunks: all of that in a warm and comforting environment. Depending on the personal goal of the student, we will learn/refine/explore the following topics: - Fundamental techniques of playing electric bass - Understanding and coming up with a bassline - What makes it groove? - How to improvise: soloing and walking bass - How to change the underlying harmonies of a song to make it sound cooler (or weirder!) - Understanding how the musical elements are glued in a song, and if you dare, how to write one yourself - How to learn music or play music by ear Languages: English (fluent), German (B1 and improving), Korean (native)

Any level welcome in this class. Learning songs is the beginning of the adventure, learning to play music with freedom is the lifelong journey. Improvisation does not mean we forget about technique! So, learn some saxophone, some jazz skills, and music theory in a tried-and-tested way developed over my many years of teaching. I am as passionate about improvisation as the saxophone itself, the two go together beautifully. I am Julia, a professional saxophonist originally from Montreal, Canada. I live in the Netherlands for 4 years and have a Master's degree in Music. I compose, engineer and perform music. I also love to teach, I have experiences with ages 9 to 90. The main idea of my teaching philosophy is to get the sound in your head out into the air. "Guided Fearless Music-Making" is my motto!
