I am an associate researcher in Italian archaeology at Lausanne University with experience in teaching Italian to foreigners. I have the CEDILS certificate to teach Italian to foreigners, issued by the Itals’ Laboratory of the Ca ‘Foscari University of Venice. I love to learn new languages and have always been aware of the importance of these skills in my personal development. I spent many years abroad for my studies in archaeology. This gave me the opportunity to meet different people and cultures from all over the world, and allowed me find my own way of teaching my language. When teaching Italian, I draw on all experiences that I have accumulated, in order to develop the academic and personal strengths of each student. I apply a student-centered, holistic approach with a focus on oral and written foreign language proficiency in a strong conversational curriculum. Highlights of my qualifications include development of students’ autonomy, action-oriented teaching and generating student motivation in a pleasant and supportive classroom.

The experience I offer through my lessons, it will allow to improve reading, writing, listening and speaking skills. My way of teaching is to listen to my students, the way they like to learn, and guide them in the process. I believe that all of us have different ways and approach to learn a language. This is a class for intermediate Italian speakers looking to improve their spoken Italian and grammar. My focus is both on conversational fluency and grammar points, explaining why the grammar is the way that it is. My goal is for these lessons to be fun and entertaining, and we will decide together the topic of conversation for that lesson so that is something that interests you and that you want to talk about! I am native English from London with a First Class Degree and a Masters from UCL in Italian and Spanish with Translation Studies. I speak fluent Italian (my mother is also Italian) and Spanish and have lived in both these countries for a number of years where I taught English as a second language.
