I offer guitar lessons for all levels, from beginners to those who want to improve their technique. During the lessons we will work on technique, rhythm, chords, basic music theory, and songs you enjoy, so you can learn while having fun. Lessons are personalized according to the student’s level and goals. We can explore different musical styles such as pop, rock, blues, and more. The goal is to develop confidence with the instrument, improve musicality, and learn to play in a natural and creative way. Lessons are individual and last about one hour. Hey, I'm Iván, an argentinian musician that recently moved to Amsterdam. I've been a guitarist for more than 10 years and even though it is not the only thing i do with music, i've always enjoyed teaching. As a teacher i usually base my method on playing actual music oriented on the student's personal taste, with the possibility of developing in a more academic way later on if required. I studied classical guitar in Argentina and Spain, i've taught since i was a child and i have 3 trinity college degrees on classical guitar, rock and pop guitar and music theory. I have experience both with electric and classic/acoustic guitar and diverse genres such as rock, jazz, pop, blues, tango, classical, etc...

Course I: Vocal lessons The vocal lessons are designed on the student’s needs, meaning that during the lessons we will work on whatever is there to improve in order to let you get the most from your singing voice! During the lessons we will learn exercises to warm up and cool down the voice (so a pre- and a post- workout); we will work on vocal technique, doing specific exercises based on specific needs; we will work on the repertoire, choosing appropriate songs according to your taste and to what suits your voice the best. But, most of all, we are going to have FUN while learning and improving! For the first lesson it would be ideal to bring one song that you know well and that you like to sing and preferably you sang already. You don’t have any song yet? no problem at all, we will start with nice exercises and we can choose together a song to work on! Course II: Guitar lessons Have you ever wanted to improve your guitar skills with the goal of accompanying your voice while singing? During this lessons we can work together to find the best way to accompany yourself, using the guitar as a support for your beautiful voice! You will learn nice voicings, left and right hand technique and how to groove with nice rhythmical patterns.

For example, you can bring a song you're trying or want to learn (recording or sheet music/tab) and we'll work on it together. My name is Maaike, I am 25 years old and graduated from the Haarlem Conservatory in May 2018, majoring in singing. From an early age I have enjoyed playing the piano, both classical and popular music, and soon started singing and accompanying myself on piano and guitar. Nowadays I also write songs myself, for myself and others, and I play my repertoire live with a band called MYCA. In June 2021 I completed a master's degree in Songwriting at the Conservatory in Rotterdam. Since 2017 I have been giving private or duo singing lessons, piano lessons, and guitar lessons at home in Haarlem. Do you want to be able to guide yourself? Teaching songs you don't really like is a no-go for me. I'll help you figure out which 'classics' are there to practice on and I'll give advice about technique and timing etc.. Also, if you're really curious, I can teach you some music theory. My general goal is to get you hooked to playing. When bored, grab your guitar, not your phone!
