I'm Alex, a working musician with more than 20 years experience teaching students of all ages. Every student is different, so every lesson is different. When you study with me, you focus on what you want to do, not a one-size-fits-all lesson plan. Take lessons where it's convenient for you. If you're local, you can learn to play your instrument at my home studio in Milwaukie, Oregon. Or, for a relatively small added fee, you can take lessons in your own home within about 15 minutes of zip code 97267--approximately as far north as Southeast Portland, Oregon, and south to about West Linn. If you're further away—really anywhere in the world with an internet connection and a videoconferencing app—you can learn to play via Zoom, Facetime, or whatever other video conferencing app you prefer to use. Lessons are tailored to your needs, tastes and skill level. I teach virtually all styles of guitar and electric bass, beginner to pro. I also teach beginner to intermediate banjo. I've taught guitar—including songwriting, composition, and theory—at the Austin Live Music Academy (ALMA) founded by Jerry Jeff Walker. I've taught adults and children at music schools around Portland, and K-12 students in after-school and summer programs at such prestigious private schools as Catlin-Gabel and the German International School. And I've performed with numerous well-known musicians and bands across the USA including The Motet, Twinkle, Kenny Drew Jr., and Harmonious Wail, to name a few.

I'm Mikael half dutch and half Ecuadorian guitar player. Currently I'm based in Madrid where I'm studying my Jazz and Pop Music Interpretation Carreer in Madrid at the Escuela de Música Creativa. I've been playing the guitar for 12 years. My lessons (for all ages) do have interactive methods since I'm always looking to enlight the music interest of my studens. I focus and priorize the topics that we will study according to your interests, meaning that we learn through songs and styles that you like. Once your interested in a song, I'll learn you how to analize with active listening in order to understand whats happening inside the song, and then when we'll learn how to play it, you will notice it will be much easier for you. So you can apply this techniques to other music. I also like to motivate my students to improve their playing and knowledges by starting with composition on the guitar as a songwriter. Songwriting will help you to develop you ear training, apply the music theory and listen to music also in a different way.

Hi, I'm looking for some students to share guitar techniques... Acoustic, and electric. I have been playing/studying the guitar for over 20 years... With great appreciation for guitar music of all kinds. I play melodies, and improvised harmonies / Spanish / Classical / Jazzy / Flamenco type. But also electric guitar.. With knowledge of pedals, effects and recording equipment. I have studied chord structures and how they work with scales down the neck. Also timing/tempo, and hand techniques...right and left. I seek to share what I have learned with students who are motivated and ideally seeking more improvisation knowledge. But I can also teach beginners, and give good ideas/advice. Good morning/afternoon/morning jordi

To improve oneself in any field, whether it be learning a new language or instrument requires motivation and dedication. When it comes to learning a new language or improving one's skills, the most important aspect is immersion. Reading, talking, writing and listening all in the same language. It is a commitment, but an essential one. When it comes to playing the guitar, however, we stumble on one of those rare activities that, not only isn't limited to people of a certain age group but also doesn't require too much time to see quick and fulfilling improvements. Indeed, if you are willing to put the time and effort into learning or improving your skills, then I would be glad to help you on your journey. I have picked up the guitar at the tender age of 16 and have been playing ever since. Furthermore, throughout my life, I've lived in a multitude of countries and environments where, sometimes, learning a new language is a necessity, not a luxury. Coupled with a year's experience of tutoring a dozen children in a volunteer program, I hope to give you a solid base for you to keep improving yourself on a daily basis.

Experience the joy of guitar like never before! With my exceptional skills and extensive knowledge, I'll guide you on a musical adventure that will fill your heart with pure joy. Unleash your true potential and discover the beauty of playing guitar. Let's embark on this incredible journey together!
