Mahdia - ParisC$42
Trusted teacher: It's not easy to learn French alone, that's why I suggest you improve your level by discussing together on subjects that interest you, literary or journalistic texts, so that you can develop a better pronunciation, and understand the organization of French sentences. Reading and writing are also good activities to better express yourself and understand French. A language is alive! She must talk to herself and listen to herself in order to be mastered. I'm here for just that :) During the course, I speak French 70% of the time so that you can get your ears used to the language. Of course, I adapt according to your level, and I can also alternate with English and/or a few words of German to facilitate understanding and for you to make real progress. I can help you to improve your level by speaking or debating on subjects that interest you. You'll be able to express yourself and give your opinion on literary or journalistic texts. In my course, you will develop a better pronunciation, and build correct french sentences. Time and determination are your best allies! Reading and writing are also good exercises to help you improve your knowledge of French. A language is alive! It must be spoken and listened to in order to be mastered. I can also try to switch with English to make it easier. I have an intermediate level of German, so I can also use some German so that you can understand as much as possible.

Serdar - AbidjanC$35
Trusted teacher: Hello everyone, my name is SERDAR. I am originally Kurdish but I was born in Turkey and grew up there. I work in a construction company in zone 4, Abidjan and I want to teach the Turkish language for the volunteers. What are the reasons for learning Turkish? Whether for personal or professional reasons, learning Turkish can help. This language is not the most taught but has a particular musicality and history. Indeed, straddling Europe and Asia, it has been a hub of world culture since Antiquity. In a constant in-between, this vast territory contains many treasures. Turkey also abounds in superb regions of which Anatolia is the main symbol. In addition, Turkish is a language with a very special history. Did you know that Turkish is spoken by millions of people around the world? Even if the country which saw the birth of this language is its main home, this language has undergone multiple transformations. Thus, in the former USSR, speaking Turkish was not uncommon: almost 48 million people practiced it! Today, there are many Turkish speakers in Bulgaria, but also in Greece, Bosnia and Herzegovina or in the north of the island of Cyprus. Turkey is also one of Europe's main economic and trading partners, importing and exporting tons of food and manufactured goods each year. Speaking Turkish is therefore an important advantage in the current economic and geopolitical context. You will thus be able to offer your language skills to employers in fields as varied as commerce, economics, industry, IT ...

Trusted teacher: Hello, my name is Alejandro Argeñal, I'm from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Since my secondary studies I have been teaching tutorials of all kinds and I have been teaching Spanish online for 2 years. I know that learning Spanish can seem difficult because of its conjugations and its extensive vocabulary. But together we will make the classes fun and easy, while exploring the language. I am passionate about communication and reading from an early age, I write literature and compose music, this has led me to have good grammar, pronunciation and spelling. Inside our lessons, we will perform spelling, grammar and reading exercises at any level. So you know the language in all its aspects. If you just want to improve your fluency in conversation, we will talk about any topic, we will do vocabulary exercises based on your needs, and even games, which will make you a speaker of this language. Do not hesitate to contact me, you will notice how easy and fun it is to learn the language. See you in class :) Hello, my name is Alejandro Argeñal, I am from Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Rami - LeuvenC$65
Trusted teacher: As a language, Arabic may seem scary, whether you hear two people speaking it with a bit of an aggressive tone, or see the terrifying Alphabet being used and written in a different direction! However! Fear not! I can assure you, i felt the same way about Dutch, and was terrified to try and articulate the words and their meanings. However, after a year of going through a successful active learning course (which our classes will follow a similiar method to), and enough practice, i could confidently say i can hold my grounds, with the fear of the Dutch language being at bay ! In my 2 years of teaching experience, without the "over-use" of "English or other" languages and starting right from the beginning with Arabic, some students and friends of mine were able to speak Arabic with me, in addition to writing full essays, and even understood the general grammatical structure of the language, all of which took no more than a couple of months. However, it is necessary to keep in mind that Arabic is the second toughest language to learn after Chinese "Mandrin", meaning that expectations should be kept realistic, with time and practice being key.A year should suffice someone to be able to claim that they are at a "A1-B2" LEVEL, which is almost in the intermediate Zone. For our classes, THREE TYPES or METHODS could be chosen from: 1- The active learning extensive Method 2- The "school" Method 3- The "specific university subject tutoring" Method. 1- For the first and second methods, i will usually devise a specialized text book (Word/PDF, no need to hurt trees and print...) which will include all that we need throughout the course from necessary readings, literature, and grammar of the language. this book will be modified accordingly to the purpose of learning the language that you could clarify to me beforehand (whether academic in a specific field of science, or any other purposes...) 2- However, if your goal is purely conversation, and does not include learning proper Arabic (Fusha), the method of teaching differs a little. Here only the "school method" applies. Let me elaborate: In schools, we are taught to read and write "MUM, DAD" before we learn our ABCs, Thus "conversation" will be the main focus, accompanied by brief and on the surface piecing of the principles of the grammar, punctuation, and other related aspects whenever a new one is at hand. 3-Finally, if you are studying any of the Arts or Majors in University, and you need specific help concerning Arabic Subjects (Ba. Master. PHD levels), specific short classes, through the third method, will be offered, and through which we can: answer all your question, explain anything that you are having trouble with, and specific help that could also be offered according to your needs.

We had our first video meeting with Mahdia to discuss tutoring our children (5 and 7yo) while we are in Paris, and we were delighted with her. She was prepared, warm, enthusiastic, and had great ideas on how to work with our children and keep it interesting and fun.

Truly pleasant conversations! She speaks with a clear British accent which helps me understand pretty well. I like it how she gently corrects my worst mistakes and pronunciation. Strong recommendations.
