I believe that teaching is an art and a smart teacher should understand how an individual students understand well. What is the best teaching approach that suits the individual teacher? My primary goal is to help students become independent, comfortable, and confident in the fields of mathematics. Hello parents and students, my name is Geoff and I've been teaching Mathematics Subject for 3 years now. I'm teaching in a school here in Bangkok and I'm handling Highschool students. My specialties are Numbers, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry. I can also teach other Math Subjects (Probability and Statistics, Pre-Calculus (Differential and Integral) . We all know that Mathematics is a hard subject, but I always encourage my students to love Math. We can do anything if we put ourselves into it. I'm staying here in Bang Khun Thian, Bangkok. Right now, I'm offering an online tutorial due to Covid 19 but when everything goes back to normal, we can have a face-to-face tutorial. I can teach Primary students to High School Students. I like fun and energetic class and I can give you some techniques to solve math more easily.

The class will be held in English (Fluent) or German (Native). Before we start, I firstly try to find out together with the student, where are the strengths and weaknesses he or she has in order to customize the lessons. Generally, we do exercises depending on current education level and according to the material at class as well as repetitions of previous lessons. At some point we can include pc software supporting the understanding (of Geometry), but this will be especially for High School level. During vacations, the contents will be mostly based on repetitions. The lessons can be remote, however I strongly recommend direct interaction. The lessons are for Middle and High School level for students from 12-99y, so this might be interesting for adults as well :) I am looking forwards hearing from you :) The best is to have an initiate call/meeting together with the student to talk about level of education, type of lessons, week days etc. Best regards, Chris

The purpose is to adapt lessons to each student, and to help him without adding too much homework! What I propose the best is tutoring math for school and college. During a lesson we take at least 10 minutes to review the main points of the area to study. Then I lead through the students own exercises or I can propose some.

Some students believe that they are not mathematically gifted; therefore incapable of learning mathematics. I believe the contrary, that all students with motivation sustained by the teacher and confidence in their mathematical skills are essential to the student’s success in the classroom. I include reflection in my daily practices to encourage students to be reflective, while developing their ability to learn and innovate. In my opinion, reflection is fundamental for students to be able to manage complex thinking processes and outcomes adequately. Reflective practices aid learners to expand their understanding of concepts by creating new connections and relating different ideas; and can guide them to understand themselves as learners by maximizing their strengths and minimizing their weaknesses. To support my students to become independent and reflective learners, I consider two complementary types of reflection: Reflecting on what is being accomplished to support deeper understanding of the concepts; and making learning itself an object of reflection to support student self-regulation and independent learning. I refer to the Socratic Method, Bloom’s Taxonomy of Critical Thought and Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences when I am creating my daily lesson plans to assure that I teach to a variety of learning styles. By teaching to these learning styles and presenting the concept in the ways stated above, I create an atmosphere where success for the student is probable. I consider success to be more likely because not only am I presenting information multiple ways, but I am also encouraging students who understand the material to help others who do not; therefore giving the students a view of the material from their peers. Creating this success is the first step in motivation. I believe that once the students understand that math is a subject that they can understand, their confidence and motivation will increase therefore making them more apt to put forth more effort in the math classroom.
