My name is Santiago Vidarte, I am from Seville, Spain and I am a Spanish teacher, graduated in humanities, specialized in teaching Spanish as a foreign language, from the Pablo de Olavide University in Seville. I am specialised in film history and theory, which I've been studying for years and know extensively. You could be someone curious about film who wants to get a grasp of the old calssics; or you could be a cinephile who wants to deepen her or his knowledge of the field and think critically about cinema. Some topics will include New Korean Cinema, Contemporary French Cinema, Experimental Film, French New Wave, Film and Philosophy, Hollywood Cinema, Postmodern Cinema, Documentary Theory, Queer Cinema, Feminist Cinema, Black and Postcolonial Cinema, and Ecological cinema. I also teach contemporary art history, specifically from the 1960s onwards, with a focus on performance, installation and video art, as well as their broader cultural background and relationship to the other arts. Some of the artists that will be studied are Cindy Sherman, Steve McQueen, Chantal Akerman, Shirin Neshat, Marina Abramovic, and Ana Mendieta.

Spanish has become the third most spoken language in the world, other than English and Chinese, especially considering the number of inhabitants of the latter. However, with China's steady and fast expansion in Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, let alone Latin America, Spanish has turned into a twice-as-important language. I am a language teacher and teacher of Spanish language and literature. I use the communicative approach to language teaching and my lessons are project-based. You will be focused on discovering something while learning the language, and you'll have fun. Last but not least, I've been teaching Spanish for a few years now, both to company executives and their families in Paraguay, South America, and to international students at Pais International School, in Paraguay.
