In my English class, we cover a wide range of activities. We start with reading sessions where we explore different genres and authors. I also emphasizes the importance of spelling, so we often have spelling quizzes to keep us sharp. Creative writing is a big part of our lessons too; we get to write stories, poems, and even scripts, which is really fun and helps us express our ideas in unique ways. What I offer: I offer coaching, mentoring, directing to children and young people to gain confidence in themselves in whatever they wish to pursue and build their performance skills. Whether this is preparing for their first time public speaking, support in preparing their GCSE/A-Level performances, or to have feedback on their first play, I am delighted to discuss what would suit you or your child and tailor it to your specific goals. Lessons are usually an hour but flexible to discussing other arrangements.

Learning a new language is so much fun, not to mention it can be very useful when travelling or going on holiday or even if it’s just learning for fun. I dedicate my time & knowledge to ensure I assist every student to their individual needs, whether that is assisting with their pronunciation, practicing writing and structuring paragraphs. In this engaging class, students will explore classic and modern literature whilst developing their own storytelling skills. English Language and Literature have always been my strongest subjects and have always peaked my interest, it would be an honour for me to allow you to also develop an interest in such a wonderful subject.

In this class, we'll work on shaping new drafts whilst learning about international poetic forms as well as producing some free verse work. We'll edit our material and, if we have multiple sessions, we'll put together a brief collection! We will explore the world of the senses, memories, and connect to language in a new, profound way. My course is not prescriptive, and we'll meet your voice wherever you're at right now. You'll be taught by a published poet with work experience in the UK and North America. I've taught Creative Writing to university students at a world-leading school, and worked with younger audiences, and I'm happy to work with a variety of forms in English. I studied for my MFA in Creative Writing at the University of British Columbia, and won a scholarship as the strongest poet in my cohort.

I've written a dozen plays in the last year alone, so consider myself well acquainted with the pitfalls and complex methodologies of this often tricky art. I specialise and have years of experience, skills and training in SEN as well as supporting children in mainstream education. Therefore, I'm qualified in supporting and providing 1:1 to an SEN, primary school child, who has learning difficulties and needs full support in any subject from Key Stages 1-2. Updates on your child's progress as well as homework will also be provided regularly. Full support will also be given to mainstream children who do not have learning difficulties but need some tuition in English, Maths or Science etc. Exam support for those preparing for their SATS in Key Stages 1 - 2 will be given. All children will be provided with homework on a weekly basis. I like to give parents of young children regular updates on how their child is progressing. For older children or adults, I can provide support with coursework, essay writing and exam support, in the subjects stated above, just ask! My teenage daughter had tuition from myself whilst studying for her GCSE's this year. She managed to pass all of her subjects, and got a distinction in English, amongst other subjects! I like to build a good professional rapport with all my students and to allow them to really think critically whilst learning.
