Hello! My name is Mary and I'm from Singapore. I love traveling, meeting people and learning languages. I'm a polyglot, that means I'm interested in languages and can use quite a few of them fluently: English, Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese, etc. My background I've been living and teaching in Japan for over 20 years. I've taught at schools and universities, large corporations (JR East), government Ministries (MOE),and even the military (JIETAI). During my time here, I've taught English (still teaching) to people from all walks of life: school students, teachers, home-makers, retirees, technicians, designers, company executives, physicians, lawyers, police officers and military personnel, etc. I've taught conversational Mandarin & Cantonese too, to students of all ages, both in person and online. My focus and belief I'm friendly, fun and energetic. In my classes, I focus largely on having a good time. My belief is that you learn better if you're having a good time. Of course, I also believe in helping my students improve their pronunciation, intonation, and fluency; and for them to reach the goal of communicating naturally and confidently in the language (languages) they choose to learn. So, what are you waiting for? Contact me today, and let's start this exciting-and-fun-learning journey together! Accents, spelling / characters: -English: North American -Mandarin: Mainland China (Simplified Chinese) -Cantonese: Hong Kong (Traditional Chinese)

I have several years of experience in tutoring young students or adults. In my classes, the best content is always determined by both of you, the audience, and me. I follow the way of fun, practical, and informative tutoring and I try to combine daily language into learning materials, which can lead to the best results. Chinese is not easy but it can get easier when it starts to be fun and charming. I am from Chengdu city (the hometown of Panda)and also stayed in Beijing for over 4 years. I believe that not only language is the point where we can communicate and discuss, but also the culture as well as customs. Learning structure and goals all can be tailor-made and customized only for you.

Interestingly, the hardest language to learn is also the most widely spoken native language in the world. Mandarin Chinese is challenging for its writing system , the tonal nature and pronunciation . This course is not limited to the complicated grammar of the language. Through discussions with native speakers about culture, festivals and etiquette, it can help you have a deeper understanding of Chinese traditions. Suitable for Chinese learners with a certain foundation.

I believe that the learning process of every language can be extremely fun and enjoyable as long as you're willing to submit to and immerse yourself in the world of language. Chinese, in particular, is a fascinating language with intricate nuances behind the meaning, beautiful calligraphy art behind the writing, and a long and rich history behind the words. That is why, I want to be open-minded and democratic about the course setup. It can be anything that you want: traditional teaching of characters, spellings, grammars; fun conversation practice; Chinese literature analysis,; modern Chinese pop culture discussion...... I want you to be in charge of what you learn and how you learn, and ultimately to be able to enjoy learning Chinese. Something about me: I'm a currently master student in a major named "Economics and Management in Arts, Culture, Media, and Entertainment (extremely long name but just as interesting)" at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. I'm a native Chinese speaker but I've had many years of experience living abroad and studying and working in English, which is why my primary teaching language will be English. I'm also bad at self-introduction, if you want to know more about me, just book a session ;)

I used to study abroad and can speak fluent English. I'm teaching Mandarin online ranges from young kids to adults based on Official Common Chinese HSK standard teaching material. My courses are lighthearted and systematic, and my previous students have given me very good feedbacks. No matter what level of Mandarin you are at, I believe I can always find a suitable way for you to improve. See ya !

In my class, you can practice speaking Chinese with me, or send me your Chinese essay in advance so that I can explain my correction or opinion to you. In addition, I'm especially good at Old Chinese, such as old poems or short OC essay analysis. I have passed my Putonghua Proficiency Test with a score of 95, and I'm an English major in Switzerland, which means that we can communicate in both Chinese and English. I am available from Thursday to Sunday, we can set a suitable time depending on your need.
