Individual lessons based on the needs of each student, using a mix of classic and innovative teaching methods. Lessons are one hour, 45 minutes or 30 minutes each, but can be adapted as required. My work experience allows me to structure lessons for children aged 5 and up and for people of all ages. I have always adapted my academic and teaching skills to the needs and ambitions of each individual student, structuring the most suitable teaching methodology for each individual. My name is Sofija and I am a pianist currently studying at Conservatorium Maastricht. I believe that music helps us to develop skills and qualities such as patience, accuracy and sensitivity that we all need in our daily life. It can be also a great way to connect to other people or to yourself. In the lessons we will focus on your needs and wishes both if you are a beginner or an advanced player. My goal would be to make a beginner feel comfortable with features such as good orientation in the scores and on the keyboard, musical and rhythmical playing, basic technical skills and knowledge of musical terminology. With an advanced player we will further develop their own interpretation and musical ideas. Lessons can be taught in English, Czech or Russian. My name is Andrea, I am 23 years old and I am currently living in Maastricht. I hold the Bachellor degree in Lyrical Singing and I am currently pursuing my Master’s (Year 1) at the Maastricht Conservatorium. Additionally, I am in my fourth year of bilingual primary school teaching. I am cheerful, funny, but also very disciplined. I have been lucky enough to participate in different operas, such as Hoffman's tales or the wedding of Figaro. I consider my singing classes to be very active, I like to innovate and teach new things so that each class is unique. A typical lesson works on a mix of technique (posture, bow control, tone production), repertoire suited to your level and taste, and — if you want it — music theory and sight-reading. I'll set clear short-term goals with you each lesson and check in regularly on your progress, so you always know what you're working toward and why. I have experience teaching students with dyslexia and ADHD, and I adjust my pacing and explanations so lessons stay clear and comfortable rather than stressful. If you're an absolute beginner, don't worry — I've taught people who've never held a cello before, and we start exactly where you are. A bit about my background: I hold a Master of Music from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam, where I studied under Ella van Poucke, and I graduated cum laude from the Conservatory and University of Thessaloniki. With my quartet, I won First Prize and the Young Jury Prize at the Storioni Festival Competition 2026, and I've performed at venues including Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw Amsterdam, and Muziekgebouw Eindhoven.
